So far, Avery has had a BLAST. She LOVES the beach - plays in the waves and likes us to carry her out so she can "swim" and jump in the "big waves". She enjoys playing in the sand, finding rocks, trying to build sand castles and just seems to be in her own little imaginary world. It's been very hot and humid up here so we have spent a lot of time in the water! She also really enjoyed the playground at the local school and has had fun taking Hershey for walks with Papa. Avery and G have also been spending lots of time in the library playing with books, puzzles and puppets. G has taken her to breakfast at the Early Bird (which we think was named after Avery) a couple times and I was able to join them once. She likes getting Teddy Bear Pancakes and eating them with Jelly and Honey.
On Tuesday, we had a dinner at Sally's house with the Tobin's and Amelia and her boys. Avery loved playing on Sally's private beach. She also wanted to help Papa grill and discovered a walking stick that Sally had. She carried it around for quite some time.
On Wednesday, we met the Tobin's for dinner at Martha's. There was a live band and Avery was the star of the show. She danced her heart out! And also found a little Lamb sculpture that outside the knitting store. She channeled "Doc McStuffins" and kept giving "Lamby" a check up. As well as singing her to sleep before we left.
On Thursday, Chuck and I had a "date night" in Traverse City - dinner at Stella's and the casino. We both lost some $$ but had a really fun night. Avery and G went back over to Sally's and had dinner. Avery ran around naked on the beach and had a wonderful time cooling down by the water before bed.
I have been terrible about taking pictures but will get better after today when I am done with work and my official vacation starts :)
