Memorial Day Weekend

We visited Rockford over Memorial Day Weekend. The kids got to meet baby Milo and we had lots of fun playing with Hallie. It was a laid back family weekend. Boys were able to golf, girls did some Glik's shopping and then we all just hung together with the fam. I love seeing the cousins all together!

The Last Day of School 2026

The kids finished 4th and 8th Grade - Onto 5th and HIGH SCHOOL! Both kids ended the year strong with Avery receiving her English Award and Tay placing in the top 20% of Math Olympiad! They also made great friends, got all A's and were kind, caring, sweet and funny classmates. Hung and I are pretty darn lucky!

We celebrated with a neighborhood water balloon and Foam party and my annual Ice Cream Sundae Bar. The rain held out and it was a happy end to the year. Bring on SUMMER!

8th Grade Awards for Avery

Avery came home with a cryptic note that she would be receiving an award for the end of year 8th ceremony. We would find out what it was at the event...She ended up winning the Excellence in Language Arts Award for her team (The Eagles which has about 150 students). She was nominated by her teacher Mr. Capin who she struggled with during the year - Didn't always love his teaching style, would be frustrated by how he graded projects and generally thought he didn't like her. It is his last year and he is headed to retirement and maybe a little cranky....But he was able to challenge Avery and ultimately recognize her special skills in reading and writing. I couldn't have picked a better award for her to receive - She was a little shocked but excited. We ended the night with a celebratory dinner at Charleston's. SO proud of my sweet and smart girl. She is ready for high school.

Mr Capin wasn't able to be at the awards so we took a pic with her FAVE teacher Mr. Brumback who was the Yearbook Advisor. We will miss him!

Avery's Spring Vocal Motion Concert

Avery's FINAL Middle School concert was today - They performed with all of the Westfield music department in an all day outdoor concert on the football field. It was a little emotional as this is the end of her days at Westfield - While we are all so excited for what's to come at UHS, we are grateful to all the amazing teachers and friends she has made along the way. They were SO cute on stage and dances were really fun and well choreographed. It was a hot day and the kids handled the elements amazingly well and gave us a great, final show.

Tay is missing as the poor kid was home with Strep Throat....
