Lordy Lordy I am 40!!

I usually dread my b-day and don't love all the attention on me - But I really had such a wonderful 40th Birthday. It started with my sweet neighbors Abby, Holly, Christine and Jayme decorating our yard with balloons (supplied by G :)), homemade signs and decorations - Brought a smile to my face the second I saw it. G stopped by before work and came with a beautiful card and a 2 page letter she wrote about how proud she is to be my mom - I was feeling sluggish to get the day going and she pepped me right up!! I spent the day getting hundreds of FB posts (one particularly amazing one from Aunt Maddie), texts, and calls from family and friends from all different phases of my life. I took the afternoon off work and got in a run and some time to relax before school was over. We ordered in Thai for dinner and Avery decorated a peanut butter cup ice cream cake from DQ and made me candles with her glue gun and craft supplies (she is such a crafty girl). G, Papa and the Donnelson's joined us for dinner. Avery made me a couple cards, got me a new phone case which I desperately needed and made me the most amazing canvas that I'll cherish forever. Tay made me a book about Dinosaurs and also gave me math problems to do - If I got them right I earned hugs and kisses. Hung got me a Apple Gift Card and new wristlet purse. I loved every minute of it and just felt so lucky and loved!!

I kept finding myself on the verge of tears. Not because I am sad to turn 40 - My brilliant German Sister Miriam assured me it's the best decade yet!! But because I was so overwhelmed by all the love and good wishes that came my way today. And how lucky I am to have two amazing kids, the best mom in the world, the best siblings, the best husband, the best family and the best friends and neighbors. Truly truly lucky and grateful. Ready to take on the 40's with a full heart!!

It was a little windy but tried to capture all the awesome decorations and 5 foot balloons from G!!

Got them safely inside!

Xmas with Uncle Du and Lai Ma

We had one more visit before the holidays are truly over - Du and Trinh came to stay for a few days. Lai Ma made some great meals and the kids had fun opening their final gifts from Uncle Du and getting their Red Envelopes from Lai Ma. They overlapped with Nate and Debbie one night and G and Papa came over for an Asian Feast. The kids also gave them some canvases which they loved! It was a lowkey end to vacation and nice to have some down time and quiet in the house before getting back into the swing of things.

G and Papa had us all over on New Year's Day for a Crab Feast which was the perfect way to welcome the new year (along with 2 Michigan B-ball wins taking them up to #10 in the polls).

So long 2020 and Happy New Year. Excited to see what 2021 holds for the Trieu Crew!

Played some UNO on NYE - G was the big winner!!
Played some more Among Us, barely got out of our PJ's and ate the rest of Debbie's homemade pasta on our last weekend before school/work - YUM!!
