Rough Week Back From Vacation

Our return to life after vacation has been a bit rough. Here is how the week went....

• Sunday: A pretty easy drive home. Get unpacked and settled back into the house. Noticed the air was not working great but we are happy to be home and just ignore it. Also found that ants had made their way into our foyer and Hung had to go and get traps.
• Monday: Avery barely sleeps the night before and Hung and I are exhausted heading back to work - which is super busy for both of us. Air conditioner gets worse and is 80+ degrees upstairs - we call the landlord. Avery continues to sleep horribly.
• Tuesday: Day Care calls us around noon to let us know that Avery is not herself and has a fever of 102. The A/C repairman comes in the afternoon and tells us that we need a new compressor and they have to shut the system off. So we pack up and move the sick baby to my mom's house. We arrive at my mom's to find that they are still working on replacing all the carpets while my mom and Chuck are in Leland so the house is in a bit of disarray and nothing is where it's supposed to be and the new, pilly carpet has not been vacuumed yet. We spend the night trying to keep Avery calm and comfortable and also work on making the house livable.
• Wednesday: Fever has not gone down so I take Avery to the Dr.'s office to find out she has Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease and will be sick for 3-5 more days. It's apparent the poor thing has a bad sore throat and is refusing solids. We struggle to balance us both working and taking care of Avery. Avery is having trouble napping and sleeping. We did get some help from Uncle Cullen and Katie Walls (very thankful for that!). We have another long night with Avery.
• Thursday: Hung has to spend most of the day at our house where it's 87 degrees while the men fix the A/C. I stay with Avery at my mom's who is still running a fever and not eating. I try to get some work done and get ready to move back home. We are able to move back that night but Avery has a horrible time sleeping (Between vacation, being sick, and moving around she just can't seem to get back to normal). She doesn't fall asleep until 11, is up from 3-5:30, and back up at 7:15.
• Friday: Things are starting to look up! Avery's fever breaks, she starts eating again and takes a nap from 12-3. Hung and I both get our work done for the week and the A/C is working great!! Avery falls asleep before nine (which has not happened since we got home) and sleeps through until 4:30 - we still have work to do but it's an improvement! Hung and I both get some rest heading into the weekend.

We hope we are through the worst of it and that we are back to "normal" next week!
