We had a great last weekend of our first family vacation with Avery. Friday started out a little rough since Avery decided she didn't want to sleep from 3:00 am until 6:15 am and then was up again around 8 am. Luckily, Gramps took Avery over to Sally's to play and gave Grams and I a chance to get a good nap in and recover from the previous night. Gramps even got Avery successfully from the car to her crib when she fell asleep on the ride home - not an easy thing to do! After our morning naps we had a relaxing afternoon and got some beach time in. And Hung and Uncle Du got in one more round of golf. That night we had a wonderful dinner with Sally at The Riverside. Avery tried her first lime - she made some awful faces but kept eating it?? We had a great dinner followed by a visit from the Lawrence's and one final trip to the casino for the boys.
On Saturday we stopped through Grand Rapids and got to spend time with G&G, Grandpa, Grandma T and Aunt Maddie. It was a nice, sunny day so we got some pool time in. Avery also had fun playing in the Lazy Susan and feeding all the dogs (i.e. dropping her food on the floor while she ate - they LOVED her!). It was a quick visit but the perfect way to break up the trip and spend some time with everyone.
We made it home today. It was an easy drive and Avery slept most of the way. It was SUCH a great two weeks - lots of wonderful memories. It's nice to be settled back home but we look forward to heading back next summer.
