Leland 2012 - Part 2 (Happy July 4th)

I have been working this week and Grams has been taking care of Avery during the day (I think Grams may become NaNa as that is what Avery seems to be calling her - but not sure on that one yet). They have been having a lot of fun together playing on the front lawn, taking long walks, visiting the Children's Library, exploring the woods around Sally's house and shopping around town. Avery has been in a great mood - she's loving all the fresh fruit and veggies and has been taking two long naps a day. I think all the heat, activity, and new surroundings are wearing her out!!

I did get Wednesday off for the 4th of July and was able to spend the day with my mom and Avery. We decorated the cottage and had lots of treats for the parade. It was just a small group of us this year but we shared our front row seats, food and drinks with other spectators who were very appreciative for the hospitality. Avery really enjoyed the parade - I wasn't sure how she'd handle all the noise and crowds but she loved it. She watched the whole parade and did lots of clapping, waving and smiling. It was so fun to watch her enjoy it and take it all in. I loved being "Up North" on the 4th and have so many great childhood memories of it - I hope it's the same for Avery!

Chuck and Hershey arrived last night and Hung and Du will get here tomorrow. It has been a great week with just the girls but we are excited for the cottage to fill up and have the rest of the family together.

Happy 4th of July!!

Watching Grams set up for the parade
Getting the flags set up
Waiting for the parade to start

Lots of pointing at things - ALL the time!
Sun hat time!!
...And then of course trying to take it off
 Totally obsessed with some beads
 Playing with Sally
 Enjoying all the flags
Tried to get a group shot but she was too busy to look at the camera

 Waving during the parade
