Avery just completed her first CYT Production as a Brooklyn Newsie and she could not have loved it more. I think she really found her THING and her people. She has been going to rehearsal every Friday night and Saturday morning since March and this weekend was finally the show. Tech week was last week and she had to be downtown from 4:30-9 every night. She handled it amazingly well and powered through (only sleeping in one day and going a ltitle late to school)! And on opening night she was bursting with excitement and nervous energy. But once she was onstage, she lit up and had the time of her life. She made amazing friends and memories and I think this is just the beginning for her and CYT!
Avery had so many friends and family come to watch and support (including Rebecca who sent Crumble Cookies on opening night). Her three best friends (Norah, Areen, and Korinne) from school and teacher came on opening night. Poonam, Savera and the Donnelson's came on Saturday and she had to other school friends (Austyn and Sara) come Sunday along with Karen and Kelsie from the barn. Of course G, Papa, Hung, Tay, Uncle Du, Lai Ma, Uncle Cullen and Aunt KJ also came to support. Tay was a little squiggly - his bag full of candy helped keep him quiet - but made it through and decide Crutchie was his favorite charcter and he was thrilled to meet her after the show. The kissing grossed him which led to him ranking the show as a "diagnol thumb". It was a TON of work for Aves but she really, really loved. So proud of my theater kid!
Crumbl Cookies did NOT last long - Rebecca is the best friend!
