Despite Tay catching a stomach bug, we had a great week leading up Christmas. We went to Jingle Rails with Greyson and Erika and Avery's friend Areen joined us, as well. The kids liked looking for all of the pictures on the scavenger hunt and playing in the new kids area. Avery and I got nails done, Tay took some much needed rest time, Hung made the huge Costco run and we also made 3 batches of Grandma's Chex Mic. The family started to arrive on the 23rd - Grandpa, Grandma T, Aunt Maddie and Uncle Eddie were the first ones to get here. Christmas Eve was low key as Tay was not feeling well but he rallied and we had dinner at G and Papa's (Thai and Bundt Cakes). We came home, put the reindeer food out and got ready for Santa!
By Christmas Morning, Nate and Debbie had arrived. Once Cullen and KJ made it over, we started stockings around 9:30. Our annual Secret Santa Gift Exchange was perfect and the kids were showered with so many amazing, generous gifts. A highlight for Avery was surprise tickets to see Olivia Rodrigo with Hung in NYC (Thanks to Nate and Debbie's friend Kevin!!). Tay got SUPER frustrated by a Math Book from Santa (the carrying of 1's was not clicking on X-mas morning and this caused some drama) but he rallied and was very excited about his new color changing cars, games, new scooter and Mini-Fridge. The fridge was surprisingly a TOP gift - He promptly set it up in his room and proceeded to stock it full with snacks, cheese, caramel apple dip and pickles. He loves eating out of it and showing it to people. Avery got some awesome clothes and beauty products that she was super excited about. She also got an amazing foot massager that we ALL are enjoying a TON!
I made Christmas Brunch and Teri made a delicious Christmas dinner. We were in jammies all day just enjoying the company and all our new toys. The 26th was another relaxing day - The boys got some golf in and we also checked out the progress on Du's new house. Maddie and Eddie had to leave on the 27th and we were so sad to see them go. Debbie pulled out the VR goggles and that took up a TON of time the next couple days. The kids were SO cute in the VR world - They even loved just being in the menu section and "dancing with the robot". May be our next big gift....We did have Lila and Lena sleepover on the 27th and went to Pins Mechanical and stayed up late giggling and watching movies. On the 28th Grandma T and Grandpa headed home while Nate and Debbie and I took the kids to see Sing 2. It was such a wonderful Christmas - We loved having the full house with our amazing family. Lots of special memories were made!
