Hung and I woke her up around 3:30 am and told her we were going to Disney. Once she realized what was happening, she screamed and asked to "smack her own butt" - she jumped up and did a silly butt-smacking dance and we were on our way. We had the BEST 4 days together and it was magical and just so fun for both of us.
Our first day was spent at Animal Kingdom - We were going on very minimal sleep (and only got about 20 min on the plane) but we rallied! Avery loved the Dino-Roller Coaster (we did that 2 times - she was REALLY nervous waiting in the line for her first ride but then realized she loved roller coasters when it ended). Bugs Life movie, Kilimanjaro Safari and the Dinosaur ride were also favorites. We also did Kali River Rapids 5 times and left the park soaked. We had a fun lunch with characters and also got to meet Kevan, Gwen, Ella and Olivia for dinner which was the perfect way to end our first day!
Day 2 was Magic Kingdom day and was a favorite for both of us!! Avery was ALL about the rides this visit and didn't have interest in Princesses, Characters or parades. We did every coaster and water ride - some of them more than once!! We had perfect weather and took full advantage of the day. Splash Mountain and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Ride were her two favorites. She said Space Mountain wasn't scary enough :) She did awesome all day and just crashed on the bus ride back to the hotel after half eating a blue sucker.
Day 3 was Epcot - We both loved Soarin and the Test Track. The new Frozen ride was a bit underwhelming but luckily we had a fast pass so we only waited a few minutes. We had a fun character lunch in a rotating restaurant that we loved. The one princess Avery wanted to meet was Snow White - We were told she would be in Germany. We got there and she was at a "Princess Conference". There was a topiary of Snow White and Avery said "well I guess the best I'll get is a bushy Snow White" LOL. We ended the night with a yummy dinner in Mexico and a final ride on the Test Track.
Pretend sleeping at dinner - We tricked G since I literally fell asleep on my plate when I was about 6 in the same restaurant so we pretended like it happened to Avery, too.
Our final day we spent at Hollywood Studios. Avery conquered the Rockin' Roller Coaster - I couldn't do it since it went upside down and my stomach would not allow it. So we got in line with 3 really nice French women and they rode with Avery. She did AWESOME and was really brave. We did Tower of Terror together which she said was the scariest ride of the whole trip - But the pic looks like I am lot more scared than her. We also saw some fun shows. One was the Indiana Jones show where they do lots of stunts. When it was over she wanted to pretend punch me and ended up socking me in the face. Even though I was the one hurt she ended up sobbing and took about 30 minutes to recover. That was really her only breakdown - she had one random one on our way to Magic Kingdom where she by accident stepped on a guy's foot and then got all embarrassed or something and cried for about 20 minutes. Random!
It was truly the perfect Mama/Daughter vacation and I can't wait to have many more with my sweet girl. The only snafu was getting to our car and finding a dead battery. Luckily the airport valet helped us out and gave us hand warmers while we waited for help (it was about 20 degrees and we did not have coats). But we made it home around midnight and were so excited to see our boys!!
Hung and Tay had a good week together - They spent a night at Pinheads, got a REAL Koopa for Tay from Lowe's, did lots of playing with Koopa's and pretend sleeping games and even had a sleepover in our bed one night when the crib just wasn't gonna cut it :) Tay really missed Avery and was SO excited to see her on Friday morning. Our first night back they had to sleep together which was super sweet.
