1/2 Birthdays

Avery LOVES her half birthday, so we celebrated today with pizza and cake. We draw the line at presents...But every year G brings over cake and balloons and we celebrate the 1/2 year mark for both kiddos. This year Papa, Kathleen and Anna joined us, too - and all brought them small gifts :) 

A few cute Avery things as she turns 6 1/2:

• A new girl Reese started at her school the other week and Avery is her "Ambassador" and they have become friends. Avery said "We have SO much in common. We both turn 6 1/2 in February, we both have little brothers and we both USED to like Shopkins". I would love to have heard that full conversation.
• Avery is SUCH a sweet sister. She is so kind and loving to Tay and he loves his "Sissy" so much. They just make me melt together and I love how they can actually play together now.
• She has this totally odd obsession with wanting to see Hung naked....Which Hung makes sure never happens. So the other day Tay and Hung took a shower together and afterwards Tay goes "I saw Dada's PeePee" and Avery goes "Ugh. I am SO jealous!" 
• She loves to write little notes and color - This morning she was writing everyone's name who was coming to her party and drawing their picture next to it. The way she spells things phonetically is SO sweet and her reading keeps getting better and better.
• We were selling Girl Scout cookies and one older man bought an extra box and told her to "give it to a sweet, old lady." So a women who is probably 60 shows up and Avery says "So this man bought this box and told us to give it to an old lady. So I wanted to give it to you." LOL The woman said she was not quite ready to be old...It was very sweet!
• She is currently loving the new "Zombie" Disney movie - It's basically being played on repeat at our house! The songs are really catchy and she'll try to copy the dance moves.
• Bedtime is very sweet - After reading she needs "chit chat" time where Hung or I talk about random things with her. And then she falls asleep every night listening to Bandstand.
• Her favorite color is purple.
• She has lots of good friends at school and playing usually involves pretend - House, School, Restaurant, you name it.....When her and her friends are playing every other phrase is "Pretend that..."
• She was really annoyed when they were going over President's at school and they said "Trump" and a bunch of the kids cheered. She said "But he's a jerkface". And she was also annoyed that only a couple kids cheered for Obama. Love my little liberal!
• Avery has a giant heart, she is very inquisitive (Always needs to know what we are talking about and won't let it go until she has every detail), and she is a goofball and loves to make us and her friends laugh. I couldn't love her more - She makes me melt everyday!
