Chicago Weekend!

We had a great weekend seeing family and friends in Chicago! Avery, Tay and I spent Friday hanging with Aunt Maddie while Hung had to work. We got to see her cute apartment in Lincoln Park, went to lunch, walked around the park and then finished with cupcakes. I thought the cupcakes were the best thing ever but Avery told us she really didn't like them - So odd but Maddie and I had no trouble finishing hers.We ended the day having dinner at yummy BBQ and got to meet Maddie's boyfriend Eddie who we all loved. He even brought both kids b-day gifts and Avery insisted on sitting by him. Tay LOVED the food that night - he literally ate 1/2 of Maddie's bbq sandwich and pretty much all of my sweet potato fries :)

Saturday we were stuck with some rain so we met up with Jill, John and Jax Wrobel at an indoor kids play cafe. It was very busy but the kids had a lot of fun - Avery loved the pretend fire station and cars - lots of imagination going on! Tay and Jax just liked crawling around and following their big brother and sister. I loved catching up with Jill! Saturday afternoon and evening we met up with Maddie, Jill, Josh, Derek and Molly. We were able to go to the park for a bit and let the kids run a bit and then headed out to dinner at Jane's. We pretty much had our own room which was good because the kids walked around all through dinner. Avery decided to be a waitress and took our orders and "helped" our actual waitress. Derek was also very taken with Avery and was so sad to leave her - it was very cute! It was SO nice to finally meet sweet Molly and see Jill and Josh in person! We just wish we could have hung out longer!!

We ended the weekend with Brunch with Unlce Du and Aunt Maddie. The kids were awesome on the drive home and I never even needed to stop. Hung had to say in Chicago for work so I was very happy to have well behaved kiddos! Besides Tay not liking the pack'n'play at night (loved it for naps just not at 3 am...) we had a great visit!! Avery was SO sad to leave Otis and I was sad to leave our best friends and family - but it is nice to be home and settled back in. Now to get some sleep and get ready for Avery's 1st week of school!
