- When we told her it was a boy she was so happy because he would not want her toys or clothes. "If it was a girl she would says 'I want that', 'I want that', 'I want that', 'I want that', 'I want that'."
- "Mama, can I still give you tight tights? I don't want to hurt the baby!" (Tight Tights are what she calls big hug). I assured her she can give me as many of those as she wants FOREVER!
- "Can I give the baby a kiss? Where is his cheek?" (Pointing to my lower stomach).
- I had to do Progesterone Suppositories every day for the first 14 weeks. Avery saw me one morning and asked what it was. I said it was medicine for the baby. "Does that travel through your body and give food and medicine to the baby?". I explained it sort of did - It helps keep the sac healthy where the baby is living now.
- "Can we put the baby's crib in my room? I want to take care of it in the night." IF ONLY!!
- Otis was over and she wanted to give him one her balls to play with. Hung said to go ahead but Otis would probably destroy/eat it. "Then I won't give it to him. I want to save it for my baby brother."
- She really wants to get a dog when "her brother is older because the dog may not like babies and I don't want it to be mean to my baby brother."
- She was taking a bath and I asked her if she would take a bath with her baby brother. She laughed and said "no". I asked why and they reply "UMMM Penis!"
- Along the same line - A few later she said to G, "I am really excited for my baby brother to come except one thing is making me nervous...his penis."
- Avery loves to get her baby brother presents - So far she has gotten him a sun hat and Lamazz toy for his car seat (she loves that is has a hidden pocket with a toy he can chew on like a Paci), Usually when she is out with G she asks to shop for her baby brother.
- Avery was talking about wanting to go to Disney World again. I asked her if we should go alone or bring her baby brother. She said we should bring him and if he was too little to see the parades she would hold him up with her arms and if he still couldn't see she would hand him to daddy to put him on his shoulders.
- She asked me if when he comes will I love him instead of her. I told "NO WAY" and assured her that mom's have enough love for all their kids. She has been asking this more and more as the weeks go by to Hung, G and me. Breaks my heart that she would ever think that!
- She often kisses my tummy and says "I love you baby brother!"
- We have been debating the baby's name for months and Avery has had some great suggestions that include: Fecker, Brick, Joey, and Paster (like pasta)
- I got all of the old toys and board books out that Avery used and put them in the baby's room. This made Avery very jealous and she said she still LOVES those books and had to move them back to her room.
- Avery claims she is going to help with diapers - but only pee diapers. She says "I will be the pee-man and daddy will be the poop-man".
- When she gives me a hug and kiss goodbye she often times will kiss the baby good-bye too and tell him she loves him.
- Around 35 weeks Avery told G "You know, it's really hard for my mom to be pregnant. She is all puffy and her butt is really big". All SO true :)
- We were talking about names and said "Maybe we'll just name him Avery". And Avery goes "We can't do that. What if you say 'Hey Avery' and then me and baby brother won't know who you are talking to. It would be way too confusing"
