- Avery was playing with her Spiderman Doll and she said he died. I asked her what that means and she said "It means you don't come back". She asks a lot about "bad guys" - not sure why she is worried about bad guys but she asks about them a lot and we constantly reassure that she does not need to think about bad guys.
- Whenever she doesn't want to do something she says "That's not my choice!". Or if she is negotiating she'll say "How about this choice?" and propose something that was not offered.
- She likes to say "That's GROOOVY" (which she got from Pete the Cat Books).
- Reading books to her before bed is hysterical - She asks a million questions on every page. "Why does that guy look sad" (always wants to know why people look sad or mad). And there was this exchange: "Where's the nurse? I see the doctor but she needs a nurse" "I don't know where the Nurse is Avery" "Maybe a bad guy got her and put her in a cave" (always with the bad guys...)
- Avery got into watching "Beauty and the Beast" and then told me that she wanted to "fall in love and get married when I am older". I asked her who she wanted to marry and she said she wanted to marry me because she loves me so much. I melted!
- She uses words and I have no idea how she knows how to use them correctly - Like "Actually".
- Burgers are boogers.
- Avery always wants "fresh" snacks - "Can I have a fresh milk" or "Can I have fresh mix" (aka Cheezit's Mix).
- Avery made up a new term "sprinkly" - It means kind of messy or scratchy. Example: "My bed is kind of sprinkly" - I realized there was sand in the bed from Avery playing in the sandbox at a party.
- We were talking about the importance of saying "sorry" and Avery said "If I ever hit you on the head I will say sorry and I will tell Daddy I am sorry I gave him Hand Foot Mouth" (which she did and she did tell him sorry).
- She is becoming quite the little water lover - She has been taking one-on-one lessons with one of the neighborhood girls and just has a blast. She can put her whole face and head in the water and is learning to float on her back and getting better at kicking and using her arms. And she loves to jump in the water - and she really jumps. I almost can't catch her she flies so high so I usually make Hung do that job in the pool.
- Avery keeps talking about her cousins and saying things like "Oh, my cousin told me that". She has no cousins (unless there is something Hung and I don't know....). Usually their names are Knuckles and Tandoori. Either Avery has a crazy imagination or is just crazy!
- Jumping Jacks are Jumping Cats. She likes to pretend exercise and show us her strong muscles. Avery will talk about eating healthy and knows what healthy snacks are - but she's always prefer a treat or a "snacky-poo" as she calls it.
- We may have been watching too much Disney as she recently told me that Girls are beautiful and can't be awesome. We are now telling her SHE is awesome and smart and trying to move away from everything having to just be pretty and beautiful. Although I do love when I wear a dress or skirt and she tells me "Oh mommy that is so beautiful" and if she is not in a dress or skirt at that moment, she has to run and put one on.
