25 Month Update

Here are few highlights from month 25:
  •  She'll tell us "I don't like that song" when we're driving. She basically only wants to listen to Taylor Swift's "22" which she calls the "night song" and "We Are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together" which she calls "Back Together". Obsessed with Taylor Swift!
  • Some of her current sayings: "Don't Move. I'll be RIIIIGHT Back", "What's the matter? Are you OK?", "I'm OK, I'm OK" (when she falls down)
  • She told us "I only wear diapers" - zero interest in the potty.
  • Avery will walk into a room and say "Hey Guys - what are you doing?" We get a lot of "Hey Guys...." and "sorry" - if she bumps into you at all you get an immediate "sorry!"
  • Another favorite phrase is "You wanna come?". So if we ask her if she wants to go somewhere, she asks everyone else in the room if they want to join.
  • We were eating dinner the other night and Hung had made her a chicken sausage. He was cutting it up for her on a plate and she goes "Look - it's Daddy's Punee. I have a Ginee". We could not stop laughing!
  • She likes to say "So Cute" and "So Beautiful". She was also obsessed with my nails being painted (literally the ONE time I painted them) and asks me all the time why I took of my nail polish and she wants me to paint her nails and toes.
  • We love how she calls Animals "Amimals".
  • She sees lots of "scary monsters".
  • Avery loves going to school - We drop off her and she waves good-bye and runs and hugs her teacher Ms. Sandy. It's such a good feeling leaving her happy :)
  • She has named one her dolls "go go" and another "bo bo". And she has named her giraffe "moo moo". She also has dolls that are names mama, dada, and little Avery. Somehow she keeps them all straight! And she has a monkey she has named "Ben" from a Doc McStuffin's episode that she is very into right now.
  • She has two new favorite games: "Camping" - We take all the dolls, a couple blankets and books and put them in the tent. Then we get under the "cup cups" as Avery calls the blankets and we read books to the dolls. The other game is "Saving" - Avery "hears" that someone is in trouble (although she never knows who it is - I have to suggest all of her character friends until she decides who needs help) and then we throw a rope to them (from her String a Farm toy) and she pulls them to safety. Then Hung or me has to hold all the
"saved" friends until we are done. She also likes to save all of her stuffed animals from her crib - it's a tough job!
  • Playing Doctor is still her favorite! She has now made the lid of her Doctor Kit into an exam table and she likes to take Styrofoam padding and make it into casts - Ben the Monkey is always breaking his arm!
I have been trying to get her picture all week with ZERO success. You'll see in the photo's below the futile attempts. The last one I took was tonight right after she put Hung down for a "nap" - sunglasses, "amimals" and a blanket...Hoping we'll get better ones next time!
