12 Month Stats

We had Avery's One Year Check-Up today and below are the Stats for our big girl:

• Height: 31 1/4 inches (97th percentile)
• Weight: 23 lbs 14 oz (85-90th percentile)
• Head: 45.3 cm

We are holding steady at the top of the growth chart!! I don't know where this height is coming from but supposedly I was always in the top percentile and topped out at a whopping 5 ft 3 in so we'll see if Avery follows a similar pattern.

She had to get three shots in her arm today as well a prick on her toe to check her iron. The toe prick was no big deal and she was very interested in the band aid she got afterwards (iron levels were great at 11.8). But she hated the shots in her arm - sobbed and stroked her hair and mine for comfort. By the time she got to daycare she was totally fine and unscathed. 


I have noticed that her right eye can be a little "lazy" and not always move as far to the side as the left eye when she looks around and I pointed it out to the Dr. She noticed it too but said it could be because of the shape of her eyes. Just to be sure we are going to see an ophthalmologist to check it out and make sure we don't have to strengthen those muscles. Hopefully they won't find anything but better to be on the cautious side.

Overall, Ii was a good one year check-up - Avery is hitting all her milestones, is healthy and growing nicely.
