Happy 1st Halloween & Vaccines

Avery was a Lady Bug for her first Halloween - We thought this was an appropriate costume since she loves all the ladybugs on her play mat. The day started out great with Avery and Grams competing in the University High School Teacher Halloween Costume Contest. Although we didn't win, we did make the finals and came in 2nd. Avery was a big hit with all the teachers and students. Luckily we were able to get some pictures of her dressed up as the rest of the day did not go so well.

After the parade we went to the Doctor's office for Avery's 2 month check-up. Although the appointment went great and Avery is healthy as can be she HATED getting her vaccine shots. I have never seen her cry so hard. When we got her home, she took a long nap and then woke up screaming and fussy. The rest of the day was spent nursing and napping and trying to comfort her. She never ran a fever, but we did give her Tylenol to help with the pain. We were hoping to dress her up and take her to some of the neighbors houses and have her help pass out candy, but she just wasn't up for it. I'll make sure to not schedule any Dr. appointments around Halloween next year. She is still a bit sleepy today but seems to be doing better - am hoping she is her old self tomorrow. Not looking forward to the 4 month vaccines......
