Sutton's Bay 2025 - Part 1

The kids and I headed over to Sutton's bay for our 3 weeks stay! Hung will be coming for the last week :) Ben gave us the BEST welcome and was SO excited to see us. We started with dinner in Lake Leelanau and ice cream on our first night. On day 2 we had beach time with G, Cullen, KJ and Ben (I had to work) and then Claire and Emily arrived and we went out for trivia and pizza.

Then it was the weekend, so I had a few days free.  And Alicia and Parker joined us!

Tay, Ben, Uncle Cullen and I visited the Dunes. Tay and Cullen went up very high and may try to make it all the way to the lake. Ben and I stayed back and he was obsessed with the guy flying a kite. We spent some time in Glen Arbor and at the park while the girls shopped in Leland.

We also rented Paddleboards and a Water Mat which was a really fun day! We made it back to Glen Arbor for Putt-Putt Golf, took a catamaran ride on the Bay and had lunch and shopping in TC. We had some great meals and lots of fun checking out the new games at Hop Lot. We played tons of games, had some cheese shanty and some Van's Beach. Tay found a new book at the book store (Caraval) that he couldn't put down - He loved the recommendation SO much that he went and gave a $5 tip to the bookstore owner who recommended it. Ben was our buddy and we had so much fun taking him to the park, the beach and around town. Tay and I were able to check out a little hidden Driving Range to prep him for his golf with Hung. We also attended a protest in Sutton's Bay - The girls made signs and it felt good to be out there with like minded people!

We also spent one night spreading Papa's ashes in Lake Michigan, The Leland Library, the casino and Omena U-Pick. It was emotional and cathartic and hard. The kids broke my heart a bit. We miss him so much and his presence is so strong here.

It was so fun having Ben, Cullen, KJ, Alicia and Parker here! It was hard to say goodbye.
