Week 2, G and I switched places - She went back to Indy to take care of Chuck and I came up with Claire to hang with Uncle Cullen, Aunt KJ, Alicia and Parker. Our first night we ordered Roman Wheel, got settled in and played some croquet - and of course got ice cream. Day 2 was a gorgeous and hot day so after a lazy morning we all headed to the beach and then went to Leland to have dinner at the Cove and walk the rocks and get ice cream from Harbor House. We ended the night with Charades which led to LOTS of laughs and new inside jokes.
Day 3 we started with the best Grilled Cheese sandwiches at 9 Bean Row, the kids went candy shopping and then we headed to Traverse City. We started at Pirate's Cove and did some Go Karts - Tay and Alicia lapped me easily and Avery did well her first-time driving (sort of LOL). Then Avery, Claire and Tay did bumper boats and tried to get revenge on the boy who cut them off on the Go Kart track. After a quick stop for milkshakes, the kids all went and did an escape room with Alicia and KJ while Cullen, Ben and I explored a cool nature park. After some arcade time, we headed to Little Fleet for dinner and then came home and ended the night with more charades. A great day!
Day 4 Tay, Hung, Ben and I climbed the dunes. Ben mostly sat but Cullen and Tay went pretty far up (and ran most of it!). Then we met the girls in Glen Arbor after they shopped and looked through the art fair. We all went to Cherry Republic, visited a cute bookstore and then went to the park where Tay found a kickball pick-up game (it was some much-needed boy time). We then had lunch at Boone Docks, relaxed and ended the night with ice cream and trivia (which we were all terrible at).
Day 5 the girls and I had lunch and shopped in Fishtown while Tay had a chill day with Uncle Cullen, Aunt KJ and Ben. The G and Papa arrived!! And after getting settled in we all had a great (but LONG) dinner at Nittolo's - Ben did awesome with the long wait and we kept him busy with lots of walks, snacks and letting him watch videos of himself.
