Our first week in Sutton's Bay we spent with Alicia, Parker, Uncle Cullen, Aunt KJ and Baby Ben.
- Sunday - We arrived and settled into our new Sutton's Bay Cottage. We checked out the beach (No dead fish this year and super sandy!!) and had our first ice cream of the year.
- Monday - I had to work and it was a pretty laid back day. Lots of "chill time" for Tay while the girls did some shopping. We also played Croquet and Kubb, had dinner at HopLot with the Lawrence's and the Ruddy's, had a quick "night swim" (water was freezing so it was mostly playing on the beach), and we finished it off with ice cream and all hanging out on the front lawn and laughing A LOT!
- Tuesday - We shopped around Leland, got Cheese Shanty for lunch, spent lots of time at Roman Wheel searching for the $100 bill, squeezed in some Kubb and Croquet and had dinner at the Chinese/Thai restaurant.
- Wednesday - Had lunch at Don's Drive-In and then went to Pirates Cove. G and I got SOAKED on the bumper boats thanks to Tay but also had lots of laugh. We had a competitive game of Mini-Golf. Avery was the Lonely Heart and Tay edged me out for 2nd place on the last hole! After some more time searching for the $100 bill at Roman Wheel we had dinner at Riverside to celebrate G's 70th birthday. And it is getting next to impossible for Tay to take a pic without impersonating "The Rock".
- Thursday - We started with lunch at 9 Beans Row (BEST grilled cheese ever!). Afterwards we spent almost 2 hours at the ice cream shop and Avery and Parker cracked the code and found the hidden $100. We all helped a little but the girls really persevered and we were all SO excited when they found the prize - highlight of the vacation for sure! After a croquet tournaments (Avery took Tay out to win) and some down time, we had a yummy dinner at Martha's where Tay and Papa had some deep discussions about their favorite soccer players. We ended the night playing Blockbuster Charades which led to a TON of laughs! A perfect end to a great day.
- Friday - We explored the Leelanau Nature Trail (kids were mildly interested but played along) and then we went and met some friends in Leland for Library Time and Ice Cream. We ended the night welcoming Linde and her crew to town!
- Saturday - Most of us ran or walked the Fishtown 5k with varying amounts of enthusiasm and success! Then is was time for the Empire Chicken Dinner at the Lion's Club, weeding Sister Janina's grave and then Cheese Shanty on the beach to watch the sunset.
