Mother's Day weekend was simply lovely! Grandma T, Grandpa, Grandma Lou, Aunt Maddie and Uncle Eddie came for the weekend. On Saturday we all went to Tay's soccer game (with G). His team played really well (the return of their star player Robin helped!) and Tay had 3 goals. After one of his scores he turned to all of us, threw his hands up and jumped up and down - He was so excited! Hung had to coach this game and Avery was his time keeper on the field and she really enjoyed herself. By the end the kids were over it....Tay was doing Masked Singer songs on the field and all the kids were comparing their wiggly teeth which was cracking us all up. We had perfect weather and it was a great afternoon! We spent the rest of the day playing cards and games and bbq'd for dinner and then watched a bunch of old SNL clips. It was a fun night night!
On Sunday, we hosted Mother's Day Brunch. G, Papa, Uncle Cullen and Aunt KJ joined us along with Jaime, Brooke and Zach. After an awesome brunch of quiche, cheesy potatoes, fruit salad, pastries and bagels we opened gifts and the waterworks started!! Avery wrote such heartfelt cards to everyone and Tay also picked out gifts (G took him shopping last week) and dictated his own cards. They had us both crying and laughing with their sweetness (see pics of the cards below). To honor Grammy, I got my mom a windchime with Grammy's name, birth and death date. I also had a bracelet made with Grammy's handwriting that says Love you and Miss you. Cullen had a cutting board made with Rice Krispie treats recipe on it and Grammy's handwriting that says "Love you, Grammy". Such beautiful things to carry on her memory. It was hard for G with this being the first Mother's Day she didn't have her mom so we did our best to surround and support her!!
Tay picked out a necklace for me with an M which stands for M and Michigan!! Avery made a canvas that says "To the world you are my mom. To me your are my world". I love them both SO darn much and am grateful every day to be their mom. I am also so grateful to have 2 amazing mom's in my life and loved celebration G and Grandma T. It's just amazing having all of us together.
To end the day, Avery went on Pinterest and found a artichoke pasta bake that she made for me and G. It was actually delicious and the perfect way to end the day!
