The day took a tough turn when we tried to call Grammy and found out unexpectedly that she was sick and being tested for Covid. It was a shock and very scary - Luckily, the results are currently negative so we hope she is on the mend soon as she was obviously very sick today. It was hard on all of us and Avery took it especially hard. It was already difficult for Avery as this was her first Mother's Day without Grammy and that was making her sad to begin with. We are crossing our fingers she is healthy soon.
The day ended on a high note with Big Hoffa's BBQ dinner at our house with Cullen, KJ and Papa. Cullen brought over his N64 and the kids are LOVING it - They all played games right up until bedtime. Tay has always been afraid of video games and failing but he's finally getting into and seeing how fun they can be. We are snuggling in now and getting ready for Avery's last week of e-learning.
I am SO lucky to be the mom to Avery and Taylor. They are amazing kids with huge hearts and I am very thankful. I am also blessed to have such an amazing Mom and Step-Mom who I have learned so much from - What does it really mean to be a good mom? They have shown me with their love and selflessness how to do it right. Feeling lucky tonight as I settle in to bed. Happy Mother's Day 2020!
