Cookies, Basketball and Santa

We had a busy weekend after a rough week (Tay had a fever and ear infection, our nanny Ashley has stomach flu and Papa had a bleeding ulcer and was in the hospital for a few days). Luckily, everyone is on the mend! The weekend started with UHS Basketball Games Friday and Saturday night - Tay loved running around the school and dancing to the band (on Saturday he was pretty tired and asked to go to bed around 7:15 so he missed most of the evening!) and Avery had a blast playing with Parker, Nyla and Mason. On Friday, Avery and Parker spent most of the time at the stage and put on a show for us and on Saturday Avery cheered with the cheerleaders and practiced tying her shoes in the hallway.

We also baked TONS of Christmas Cookies. We made 175 of my Grandma's frosted sugar cookies. These are my absolute favorite and bring back such nostalgia of my Christmases as a little girl. Avery helped me roll and cut out the shapes and also frosted them with me today (along with G who helped with all of it!!). We also made my mom's favorite cornflake wreaths from her childhood and those are getting eaten very fast! On top of that I made some oatmeal cranberry cookies. I think we have over 300 cookies in our house right now!! We will need to start giving them away or we will explode before Christmas!

We also went to Breakfast with Santa at Conner Prairie on Sunday morning with Lila. Avery brought a list for Santa and made sure to tell him we would be in Grand Rapids on Christmas morning so he would know where to find her. Tay also liked sitting on Santa's lap - he was totally chill!! We also played in the indoor play area and did the Gingerbread Scavenger Hunt. It was the perfect end to the weekend.

Now we are all exhausted and hoping for good sleep tonight!
