Taylor's Week in Denver

Tay and I headed to Denver for a week so I could attend work meetings. Ashley came with us and we were able to stay at my Aunt Wendy and Uncle Art's house in Boulder. I was really sad to leave Avery but she was in good hands with Hung and G!

The flight there went well minus Tay deciding to blow out his diaper midway through the flight. I was very grateful to have Ashley and some friendly flight attendants to help get him cleaned up. But otherwise he was a perfect traveler and never cried once - he played with his toys, nursed and slept. I was worried since he doesn't take bottles and I would be gone for 9+ hours a day at meetings. Monday and Tuesday he spent most of the afternoon crying but Ashley and Wendy did a great job keeping him as happy as possible - and when I walked in he would stop crying immediately and start smiling. I felt bad for Ashley who was doing everything she could to calm him but am happy he loves me so much. Wednesday and Thursday he kept it together and took lots of milk from a sippy and ate cereal and peas (which he tried for the first time) so he was satiated and happy when I got home. The weather was amazing (in the 60's) so Ashley took him for lots of walks. We went out for some great dinners and walked around Boulder at night. And Kramer the dog LOVED Taylor and wanted to lick him all day! Tay slept great which was SO nice and I was well rested for my meetings. Overall, a very smooth first trip for the little guy!

Avery had a fun week at home. She convinced Hung to let her skip school on Monday and she spent the day playing and keeping herself busy including finding her favorite summer dress and putting in some awesome hair bows. KJ took her to a movie on Tuesday night, Wednesday night Hung and Avery went to Lila's for dinner and played and Thursday she got to have McDonald's with G. We did facetime some and everytime Tay saw Avery or Hung he would pull the phone towards him and start kissing it. On top of that, when we was upset driving to dinner a couple nights I would show him a video of Avery dancing to Taylor Swift and he was mesmerized and stopped crying immediately. He loves his sis!! I missed her a ton but am so glad she had a great week. Picking her up from school on Friday and getting a big hug was the best feeling.

Am glad there is no more travel on the horizon for me but am so thankful to Hung, my mom and Ashley for getting me through this trip. And to Wendy and Art for the amazing hospitality.
