We started trying to get her to sleep around 9 in my mom's bed where she was going to sleep with G all night (which she was excited about). My mom tried laying with her for 2 hours and she would not sleep - just wanted to chat and play. So I had the brilliant idea of saying just leave her in bed and she'll fall asleep. We told her not to get out of bed. We left the room and all was quiet. My mom went to check on her 20 minutes later and found her sitting up in bed covered in Vaseline. She followed the rules and didn't get out of bed so we couldn't fault her there. She had found two small Vaseline jars plus an EOS lib balm and literally spread them ALL OVER the bed (sheets, pillows, stuffed animals) as well as her hair, hands, and jammies. EVERYTHING! We asked her why and she said the "bed was dirty and I needed to clean it." At this point we were approaching midnight and could not stop laughing. It was just too much....We decided to pack up and head home so we could ensure she'd go to sleep since we were now past hour 3 with no sleep in sight!
The roads were awful and after slip-sliding our way home we found they had plowed our street again and we could not get into our driveway (plus I had left my purse and phone at my mom's which I needed for work in the morning). The car was stuck so we had to climb out in the large piles of snow. I finally got Avery to bed while Hung spent 30 minutes digging the car out so it wasn't halfway in the street. Avery was up bright and early today - We researched how to get Vaseline out and gave her a Cornstarch and Baking Soda mask on her hair followed by washing it with dishwashing liquid followed by shampoo. It's drying now and looking better....We'll see...
We still have no TV but we are home, my mom brought my purse over, the driveway is re-shoveled and salted by Hung, Avery is bathed, we have a few hours of sleep and we will just try to survive this last Snow Day. Nothing to do but laugh at our sweet girl and add this to the memory book.

The Supplies
What a great memory she has made all by herself! So funny! I remember Alyssa, our granddaughter, at age 4 wanted to make her bed, so she did. But because the left side wasn't as long as the right side, she decided to get the scissors and even them out!
