16 Month Update

Here are some fun, cute and new things in Month 16:

• Avery still loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - Totally obsessed and asks for "Mi" all the time and brings us the remote.
• Her vocabulary continues to grow. She calls Uncle Cullen "Cull Cull" with the first "Cull" extra-enunciated. She also started saying "NNNNNNNate" for Uncle Nate and "Maaa" for Aunt Maddie. 
• She has recently started saying "No More" - On the beach she would chase the birds and shake her index fingers at them and say "No More" as they flew away from her. We also hear "No More" and "No" when she doesn't want her diaper changed - a task that seems to have gotten harder.
• We hear new words ALL the time and it's hard to keep track but she loves to ask for "Chee" (Cheese), "App" (Apples), "Cracka" (Crackers), "Coo" (Cookie), "Wa Wa" (Water). There are others but those are the most common and she asks for "More" all the time! She is also really good at repeating what we say. We still mostly get one syllable but sometimes we get two.
• She knows lots of animals and body parts and is starting to say them and can also point them out.
• Some of her favorite words are Woah, Uh Oh, and Bump (whether she bumped her head or not)
• She seems to understand SO much of what we say to her - It's so fun to see her comprehend things and communicate with us.
• She is starting to get interested in the potty. She has her own and she likes to take our hand and lead us to the bathroom and then she sits on her potty and then has us wash her hands. I think we are still a long ways of from potty training but it's a start...
• She has an awesome appetite and there is almost nothing she doesn't like. She is an easy and happy eater.
• She really loves playing with her new baby dolls and her kitchen, kitchen accessories and shopping cart. She also really enjoys her new wagon, rocking horse and Minnie Car. And she still loves her books - but has a shorter attention span for them sometimes.
• She loves to hide - In the front closet, laundry room, etc. She is not scared of the dark and loves to open doors and check out what's behind them 
• Avery is a little more clingy and shy in new situations and will want to be held by Hung or me. But once she warms up she is off and running and exploring. 
• I love my sweet girl so much and every month gets better and better!
