Tay Takes on Soccer

Tay started his U6 soccer season this weekend and it has been a success!! He has never played (we literally practiced about 10 min before his first game). The set-up for the league is a 15 min practice followed by a 60 minute game and the teams split in two and play against the other team (also split) in a 3-v-3 format. This gives the kids lots of playing time!!

Tay is on a team with his best bud from school Ethan (Ethan's Dad is also the coach). He took to it REALLY fast - Seems to get the game and scored the first goal for his team. They won by quite a bit and Tay really shined - He was aggressive, understood the how to try and defend verse score, and cheered loudly for his team when he was subbed out.

He had his 2nd game the next day and he scored 4 goals and blocked a few by the other team in a 12-5 victory. It's so fun to watch him have fun and excel!! He is just beaming during and after the game. When we got home he asked me to play the recording as he assumed his game was televised. When I said it wasn't he said "Well, will the championship be on TV?". Uhhh - No LOL. This is a development league and the only person keeping score is Avery. When Hung said "Goodnight Tay - You are good boy", his reply was "I am also a good soccer player". The other half of his team lost tonight and Tay said they would have won if he was on that field......And he also called down to me after I put him to "I am really talented". We have to make sure his head doesn't explode but he's having a blast and excelling and it's SO fun to see!!

Go Solar Green Team! Go Player #2!

Happy Gotcha Day Bingo

We celebrated Bingo's 3rd Gotcha Day - Avery was so sweet and created a poster all for him of Bingo through the years, made him a special pin for his collar and gave him some popcorn for dinner. We are the lucky ones to have such a sweet, lovable goofball!!

Staycation Spring Break

After Grammy's funeral, we wanted to make sure the kids had a little fun on their Spring Break. On Wednesday, I took the afternoon off and Jayme and I took the kids to putt-putt and ice cream. Both kids got a legit hole in one and were happy as clams. Thursday, the kids got a full Uncle Cadoo day that included games, playground, scooter ride on the monon and going out to lunch. They ended the day visiting a candy shop and watching a movie.

Friday, Hung and I both took the day off for an Indy Staycation with the Donnelsons. We started at the zoo and it was perfect weather!! Some highlights were getting Henna tattoos, the red panda, feeding the birds and flamingos and the roller coaster. Tay is still a few inches short but didn't seem to mind hanging with us! After the zoo, we checked into our hotel and the kids played while we got settled. We had dinner at Buca Di Beppo and then planned to go swimming. We got all ready and up to the pool to discover it was closed due to Covid :( The kids handled it and we instead walked around the Circle and found a cool crepe place to get dessert. Then the girls watched a movie and the boys played switch. Nora bunked in with us and Tay bunked in with Miles. We went out to breakfast on Saturday and then went to the Children's museum. It still feels pretty shut down due to Covid and was rainy so we couldn't do the outdoor sports area. But we kept busy for a couple hours and then headed home for a relaxing weekend before we get back into our routine tomorrow.

I was so proud of how the kids just rolled with the punches all of break. They both have such positive spirits and are just two happy people who always make the best of everything. They are joy to be around and I couldn't be prouder to be their mom. I am so lucky!

Grammy's Funeral

Today was Grammy's funeral. It was a sad and hard day but we made it through. Avery spoke and did a beautiful job. She wrote this speech 100% percent on her own while I was writing mine. She blew me away when she read it to me and I am so happy she was able to share it today.

We miss you Grammy and will love you forever. You truly were the BEST Grammy.
