Happy Halloween 2023!

We had a fun and CHILLY Halloween. The day before we finally carved our pumpkins - Avery chose to go with a TSwift theme of "Karma is a Cat" and Tay went with the San Francisco 49's since his current fave Fantasy Football player is Christian McCaffrey. Both turned out great and they did a LOT of the carving themselves (Aves actually did all of hers!). I roasted pumpkin seeds and it may be my best batch ever. Yum!

Halloween was cold including snow flurries but the kids were hearty. I was able to sneak away and attend Tay's class party. After school, the kids got into their costumes and met up with friends. Avery was Boo from Monster's Inc. and dressed up with Claire and Parker as Mike Wazowski and Sulley. Tay was the Grim Reaper and went around the neighborhood with Nolan and King. I made Chili and Cornbread so we had a good spread for dinner and Hung braved the cold and took the boys out all night - They came home 2 times to warm up and count candy (as did the girls - I told them to wear hats and gloves, they declined, then came home and got hats and gloves :)) It was a quieter Halloween in the neighborhood with the cold temps and winds but the kids didn't let that stop them and got almost 20 lbs of candy combined. G and I passed out candy at home and then Uncle Cullen, Aunt KJ and Ben the Dinosaur joined us to end the night. Another great Halloween is in the books!

Muddy, Wet and Victorious Soccer!

Tay had his final soccer tournament of the Fall season - The two games on Saturday were close and we played well but they just didn't go our way. On Sunday, we had our final game against Indy Premier- This team beat us 6-5 the last time we played them and we had a little come back the end of the 2nd half so the game was not as competitive as the score. When we got to the field it was cold, windy and rainy but the boys came ready to play. Tay was given the Captain Armband by Coach Sam who said he had played so well during the Saturday games that he deserved it. And Tay REALLY lived up to that responsibility - He played his heart out, kept everyone in position and was super communicative and he hustled and made plays like never before. The whole team rose to the occasion and won 4-2. Things got silly and messy as they started sliding in the mud after each goal and then did a team slide to celebrate the victory. After getting tournament medals, we had a team party at BW3's where Tay got to hang with his buddies and Coach Sam who traded soccer cards with them the whole time. Just a FUN way to end the weekend. We are ready for some downtime before practice picks up after the holidays and we had into Spring Season. GO FIRE!!
