Halloween 2022

The weekend before Halloween, poor Tay came down with Influenza A but he felt good enough for us to decorate pumpkins as a family. Tay wanted to do an "Among Us" theme - he did ALL the carving himself and Hung did a "Sus" one to go along with it. Avery and I focused on Girl Power! Avery did the sign of the Female and I did a "Pro Choice" one. I think they all turned out great. And we had lots of good pumpkin seeds to roast.

Happily, we were all finally healthy and able to enjoy Halloween! I headed to UHS for the faculty Halloween Costume Contest. 8 of us dressed as ladybugs in honor of G and her last year at school. She was totally surprised, we all teared up and G got a standing ovation from the whole student body and staff and FINALLY won after 12 years of being a lady bug.

It was a bit of a rainy/misty day but it mostly held out for trick-or-treating. Avery went around with her friend Sarah. They dressed as Eleven and Max from Stranger Things and each collected 8 lbs of candy!! After hitting our neighborhood and the one next to ours, they sorted and traded candy. It reminded me of being a kid and I loved it,

Tay really marches to his own beat and doesn't get too excited for holidays. But he did dress up as a scary skeleton and we met up with his buddies Enzo and Nolan and we covered the whole neighborhood. That was enough for him - He poured out his candy and that was his dinner!! G, Uncle Cullen and Aunt KJ passed out candy while we walked around with Tay. After trick or treating, we had White Chicken Chili and Cornbread for dinner and took pics of Cullen and Aunt KJ to announce Baby Boy W coming in May 2023 :)

It was a successful Halloween and we now have WAY too much candy in the house!! And Bingo tolerated being a Ketchup Bottle.

Low Key Fall Break 2022

Given I was recovering from Covid, Fall Break was pretty low key this year. Kids had lots of chill time early in the week as I was trying to get back to work and still not feeling great. On Wednesday, Uncle Cullen took the kids roller skating at his gym, Thursday we went to Zoo Boo with Jaime, Brooke and Zach which was really fun. We did the whole zoo, roller coaster, trick-or-treating and mirror maze. We ended with feeding the Sting Rays!

On Friday, Tay spent the day with Aunt KJ at the office. He played lots of games with the other kids and got pizza and donuts! Then we went to Headless Horseman just the 4 of us. It was AMAZING weather - Kids rode the apples, we saw a fun magic show where Avery was a volunteer for one of the tricks, went to the food trucks for dinner, voted on the best scarecrow, had our fortunes told, played some games and ended with treats at the Apple Store. It was REALLY nice to be out and feel like a person again!

Saturday, we went to Dull's with G and the Gill's. The weather was AMAZING! We did tons of activties, had lunch and cider donuts. The kids especially loved the Tire Mountain play area. We also got our pumpkins to carve later this week. Avery had her friend Sarah sleepover - there was lots of giggles, Stranger Things and Pumpkin painting. Tay played Cuphead with Hung and Among Us with me until bed time!

We ended the weekend with Tay's final regular soccer game of the Fall Season. Lot's of family came to hang with him! He scored an awesome goal and his team won and played so well! Avery went ice skating with some CYT friends while Tay got his Covid Booster. We ended with family dinner at Red Robin (Tay's Pic) and Avery and I finished our goal of watching all the Scream movies together!

Now it's back to the daily grind....But we are happy and well rested!
