Memorial Day Weekend

The big news this weekend is that Uncle Du and Otis moved in with us. Du is building a house in harmony and living with us for the next 9 months or so while it's built and we are THRILLED to have them here!!

It was a laid back weekend while Du settled in. The guys went golfing, we had Brooke and Zach sleep over, watched Harry Potter 4, played with neighbors, and had a BBQ and firepit on Sunday with Uncle Cullen and Aunt KJ. It was cooler weather but no rain - perfect time to relax outside and enjoy the extra day off.

Tay's First Tooth

Tay finally lost his first tooth - We realized it was loose at the dentist when he told us there was actually a tooth growing behind it and the bottom front 4 are wiggly. Tay said he knew the tooth was there but didn't want to tell us because he thought it was a cavity. It got so loose that Tay was watching tv and runs over and said "Is the my tooth". It was so loose it literally fell out with no pain or fuss. He was super excited and facetimed the whole family to fill them in and then ran up and put it under his pillow right away. The tooth fairy left him $5 which he put in his safe and is saving it for a house for him and Lena.

All Aboard Graduation - Kindergarten, Here Comes Tay!

We had Tay's end of your ceremony for All Aboard this week. His class had been practicing for weeks the 4 songs they performed and it was adorable! Tay was dancing and grooving, knew all the words and motions and was super into it. He made us all melt. He also got a certificate which he was very proud of. We took some pictures afterwards - I am SO grateful to this group of teachers for giving Tay such an amazing year among the chaos of Covid. They truly knocked it out of the park - Tay was loved by his teachers and classmates, learned a ton and it SO ready for Kindergarten next year.

My Mama heart is a little sore as I watch him grow. He is SO darn sweet and funny and amazing. I love this age and am savoring our last days of Pre-K!

We finished the day with his final soccer game where he got a medal and, more importantly, a snack at the end :)

Still Obsessed With Masked Singer

Just an update that Masked Singer (along with catching Pokemon) continues to be an obsession for Tay!! He still does performance for us frequently - I have tons of videos saved to show/embarrass him someday!!

He also told me today that his greatest wish (besides marrying Lena which is still number 1) is to be on the Masked Singer and have me in the audience because he loves me so much. MELTED! I had to pinky swear (and he checked my other hand to make I sure I had no crossed fingers) that I would not tell so hopefully I am forgiven for writing this in the blog.

He is just SO cute and sweet at this age!!! I wish I could capture all the amazingness but try to write down some stories and anecdotes so we don't lose them.

Compliments for Tay!

Tay came home with a book from school that the teacher's made - They read 50 books over the year and drew a picture for each book. We got a binder with all of Tay's drawings and it was amazing how many of the books he remembered in detail from months ago!! I wrote to his teachers how amazing they were for doing that I get the sweetest replies about how much they love Tay. When I told Tay how lucky he was to have had such a great school year he burst into tears and cuddled up into a little ball in my lap. He said "I don't want to not have my teacher's any more. I am going to miss them so much!" While I HATE to see him sad, I loved that his year was this amazing given Covid.

When I dropped Tay off at school the next day, I chatted with his head teach Ms. Vanderveen about how sad he was to leave them. She proceeded to tell me that Tay is just beloved by everyone in the class - She said he is like Elvis where everyone wants to be his friend and play with him. Mom's will drop off their kids and say how much their child loves Tay and it's someone he doesn't even play with a ton. He is just adored - She also said he is like Norm from Cheers - He walks in and everyone is excited to see him. I loved hearing that he is such a sweet, kind and loved friend at school. He is ready for Kindergarten next year but we will sure miss All Aboard!!
