Avery's Grown Up Room

Avery has been asking for a room makeover since early on in quarantine and it was her main ask for her birthday. Grandma T came last weekend to re-paint the room and help us get it decorated. Avery helped with the painting and it looks amazing! We are waiting on her desk, chair and shelves but we are close to having it done.

It also gave us an excuse to have an awesome weekend with Grandma T. We relaxed around the firepit, had dinner at G's and Tay loved showing Grandma T his games, reading books with her and being an overall goofball. We dropped him of at school on Monday and he said "Goodbye Grandma T. I am really gonna miss you!" and made her cry with his sweetness. And on Tuesday he woke up asking for Grandma T. We hope she comes to visit again soon cause we already miss her tons!!

Bye Bye Seashell - Hello Ocean and Mr. Bubbles

Avery got Seashell for her 6th birthday from Grandma T and Grandpa. I was probably her main caretaker but she has been our fish for 3 years and passed away this week. The kids threw her a funeral and then the next day Avery got Mr. Bubbles to replace Seashell and Tay also wanted in on the fish action so he got Ocean (nickname "Wave"). The fish is incentive to fall asleep on his own in his own room. Night one was a success!

Chicago Weekend

We went to Chicago last weekend to visit Aunt Maddie, Uncle Eddie and Uncle Du. Friday night we stopped in La Grange to catch up with Jill, Josh, Derek and Molly. The kids were so cute together and put on multiple shows for us that involved Avery playing drums, Derek on air guitar, Molly on vocal and Tay as the dancer. They killed it!!

It was awesome to see Maddie and Eddie's new place - it's gorgeous!! On Saturday they guys golfed while Maddie and I took the kids to lunch and the Lincoln Park Zoo. The penguin we named Bob was the highlight and was so cute following the kids' hands. We had carryout for dinner together, Tay made some awesome super hero masks and we played with those a ton, Avery took a nap and the kids also spent hours playing with and snuggling Binx and Figaro - the two coolest cats out there! Sunday we had brunch with Eddie's sweet family and headed back home. It was nice to see family and have a little getaway amidst Covid.

A Little More Birthday

Since Cedar Point has been table until next year, Avery had a few neighborhood friends over to celebrate turning 9. We did a bunch of crafts (Dreamcatchers, Shrinky Dinks, and Magnet Tiles), Taylor S. came over and helped me do hair and nails, pizza, decorated cupcakes, some crazy, high energy playing and ended the night with a movie and lots of giggles. Avery had a lot of fun celebrating with her friends.

Tay got to have a sleepover with Uncle Cullen and Aunt KJ. They played tons of Zelda, went for a bike ride and got spaghetti for dinner. Cullen said it was one of their best times together :)

And that's a wrap on Birthday Season 2020!!
