Family Photo Shoot

We had some porch pictures taken on Saturday - The money raised went to charity for COVID and we got some awesome pics out of the deal!

Tay really didn't want to have his pic taken (tried saying he hurt his arm and would participate next time - lol) but he rallied and I LOVE the shots of the kids!! Plus - AVERY'S HAIR! OMG!

KJ's 30th Birthday

We celebrated Aunt KJ turning 30 last weekend - While it probably wasn't as exciting as a party with all her friends and family we wanted to make her feel special in Quarantine. We pulled out all of our decorations and Avery made a strawberry cake with strawberry icing which is KJ's favorite and we also happened to have in our pantry. La Marg was having a pop up that night so we had some awesome Mexican food and enjoyed being together.

Quarantined Mother's Day 2020

It was a bit of a different Mother's Day this year given the state of the world. It started out great - G and I slept in and Hung and the kids served us Breakfast in Bed. Avery wrote me the sweetest card and made a tote bag with a Friends quote on it that she found on Pinterest. Tay made me a wiki stix bracelet (he made about 20 of them today and we all got presents!). Hung got me the rest of my Crate and Barrel Low Bowls from our new dish set and extra silverware since we are always running out. And my mom got me a shirt that says "Hold on, let me overthink this". Hung also had the kids complete fill in the blank questions that were perfect! So I for sure got lots of love all around!!

The day took a tough turn when we tried to call Grammy and found out unexpectedly that she was sick and being tested for Covid. It was a shock and very scary - Luckily, the results are currently negative so we hope she is on the mend soon as she was obviously very sick today. It was hard on all of us and Avery took it especially hard. It was already difficult for Avery as this was her first Mother's Day without Grammy and that was making her sad to begin with. We are crossing our fingers she is healthy soon.

The day ended on a high note with Big Hoffa's BBQ dinner at our house with Cullen, KJ and Papa. Cullen brought over his N64 and the kids are LOVING it - They all played games right up until bedtime. Tay has always been afraid of video games and failing but he's finally getting into and seeing how fun they can be. We are snuggling in now and getting ready for Avery's last week of e-learning.

I am SO lucky to be the mom to Avery and Taylor. They are amazing kids with huge hearts and I am very thankful. I am also blessed to have such an amazing Mom and Step-Mom who I have learned so much from - What does it really mean to be a good mom? They have shown me with their love and selflessness how to do it right. Feeling lucky tonight as I settle in to bed. Happy Mother's Day 2020!
