Nashville Mini-Vacation

We spent Memorial Day weekend in Nashville with G, Uncle Cullen and Aunt KJ  visiting Liz, Chad and their 2 boys. It was SUCH a fun getaway!! The drive down on Friday night felt a little long (Tay asked about every 3-5 min "How many minutes until we get to Nashville?") but it was worth it to have the whole day on Saturday. We started with breakfast at the Puffy Muffin which was so cute and yummy. Then we headed to the Science Museum which both kids really enjoyed. We climbed to the top of this giant playscape and then had views of the whole city, Avery and Liz "moon walked", Tay loved the lego area, virtual reality area and building the arch with blocks. We then went to Jeni's for amazing ice cream and then headed to this  Dragon Park which was very cool. After that, we had dinner and actually met up with Aunt Maddie who was there visiting her best friend Katie. Tay was really funny at dinner playing this "Guess the Animal" game which then morphed into Guess the Food and Guess the Tree. He was super cute doing it!! We ended the night with a swim at the hotel pool.

On Sunday we found a really cool splash pad downtown - the kids spent a good couple hours there!! And given it was 95 degrees it was nice to cool down. After that we found a cute part of town and had lunch and some awesome popsicles that Maddie's friend recommended. We then went for a swim at Liz and Chad's pool club and then had an amazing dinner at their house. The kids all played so nicely together and the adults had lots of laughs catching up. Tay and Avery spent the last night having a sleepover with Uncle Cullen and Aunt KJ. It was a perfect way to kick off summer!!

End of School

Avery just finished her last week of 1st Grade. She had such an amazing year with Mrs. Smith and we are really going to miss her! Avery learned a ton and was also surrounded by such a caring and kind teach and group of class mates. I was able to attend Field Day on Thursday - the rain stayed away and the kids had a blast. Drip Drip Drop was a favorite and Avery was SOAKED coming home :)

On Friday there were some tears saying good bye to Mrs. Smith and her friends. But we greeted the kids off the bus with water guns and balloons to cheer everyone up. After the water fight we had an ice cream sundae bar. The perfect end to the year!! Now on to SUMMER!
