Happy 13th Birthday to my beautiful Avery J! She started the day with Starbucks (and looked super cute in her outfit with some fantastic waves in her hair), had lots of friends wish her a happy b-day and her Show Choir harmonized a rendition of Happy Birthday for her at school. We went out for sushi (her choice) and then came home and opened presents and had her favorite "better than anything" cake. G, Lai Ma, Uncle Du, Uncle Cullen, Aunt KJ and Benny Boo joined us for the festivities. She LOVED her gifts, was super grateful and seemed to have fun and enjoy her day. I hope 13 is a magical year!! She deserves it.

Tay is 9!
We celebrated Tay turning 9 today! Grandma T and Grandpa came to town to celebrate with us which made it even more special. He tried his best to stay up until Midnight but couldn't quite make it. We started the day with Quack Daddy donuts dropped off my G. We then let him pick lunch and he chose Penn Station sandwiches and fries and a malt from Portillos. Then we opened gifts and he was SO excited about all of them. Getting the Apple Watch literally brought him to tears and he just kept saying how grateful he was - his tender heart melts me! We finished with Crumbl Cookies since he isn't a cake fan. The rest of the day he played with buddies in the neighborhood, watched lots of Game Show Network and relaxed. He ended the day with Pizza at Uncle Du's and got some more gifts from him and Lai Ma. He is one loved and lucky boy!! So happy is ours and can't wait to see what year 9 brings!

First Day of School 2024
Avery and Tay started 7th and 3rd grade this year. Tay had to skip the bus and go in to school early so he could help lead Kindergarten kids to their classroom as part of his Ambassador role. And Avery doesn't need me at the bus stop anymore so just took Porch pics. Both kids got up and ready like champs and looked ADORABLE.
Tay came off the bus beaming and gave his day 10 fingers UP! He loved helping the kids find their classrooms and also help the Kindergarteners with lunch procedures. He said his teacher was really nice and fun but also could "get down to business". He met some new friends and seems to be off to an amazing start!
Avery had a solid first day but was a little less enthusiastic. She went with 6 or 7 fingers up and didn't want her pic taken when she got off the bus. But she had great things to say about all of her teachers (only one seems a little strict and not her style), has some good friends to sit with at lunch, found all her classrooms with no problem and has lots of familiar faces and friends in her classes. She especially loved the Show Choir and Math teachers.
We are all pretty tired tonight after such a big day but couldn't be happier with the start to the year!
