Spirit Week

It was Homecoming Spirit Week in Westfield and the kids got into it!

Monday = Crazy Sock Day. I love Avery's "Lobster" Friends socks :) Tay mismatched some cool Mario Brothers

Tuesday = PJ Day - Tay again chose a mis-match

Wednesday = Crazy/Mixed Up. Avery wore her shirt backwards and inside out plus non matching shoes and one sock, a candy cane mask and mis-matched earrings. Tay wore his pants backwards, two different socks and a Christmas shirt.

Thursday = Hat Day (Tay said this was his favorite day!)

Friday = Westfield Day! We were rushed getting the picture - Hard to move fast on a Friday morning and Avery's shoes were in knots so we were scrambling to get out the door but they made it!

Student of the Month

Avery was chosen by her Principal as Student of the Month for Shamrock Springs Elementary School and was honored at the School Board meeting. Mr. Hedges talked about how she is a leader at the school and also talked about what an inspiration she was with her Bravery song she wrote during quarantine. We are SO SO proud of the amazing person Avery is and it was wonderful to celebrate her tonight!

Cottage Weekend

We spent Labor Day weekend up at Grandma T's cottage and had such an awesome time! Grandma T, Grandpa, Luna the new puppy, Aunt Maddie and Uncle Eddie were all there to hang with us. We arrived super late Thursday night - the kids did great during the long car ride. Hung and Tay played video games in the back while Aves and I listened to Harry Potter Book 6 in the front seat (Dumbledore died right before we arrived and Avery was in full on tears - sweet girl!). On Friday, Hung, Maddie and Eddie had to work so the kids and I played some games, took a walk along the lane, and relaxed. Friday night we went to Shorts for dinner and Ruthie's for ice cream. We then spent the night playing games before bed - Spoons was a favorite. On Saturday, the guys golfed while the rest of went Apple Picking, book sale shopping and to Bachmann's. That night we all watched Harry Potter 6 before bed. On Sunday there was another round of golf for the boys while we did some more flea market shopping and then took a boat ride and paint scraped on the deck (Tay's fave!). We grilled out that night and visited the arcade/bowling alley. Covid has not been kind to the local business but the kids had fun playing $60 in games and winning about $10 in candy LOL. That night we made homemade apple crisp from the apples we picked and just relaxed and watched Game Show Network together. The kids were snuggling with me and I said "I just want you both to always be happy". Tay replied with "We are happy Mama, we have you." MELTING! We got up Monday and hit the road after all determining our Harry Potter houses on Pottermore :) It was a long drive with some holiday traffic but the kids were, again, AMAZING! Tay watched shows on his iPad and played games while Avery and I listed to 12 chapters of Harry Potter, Book 7. It was a GREAT way to celebrate the end of summer and welcome Fall.

Day 1 - Lake Views, Bingo and Hidden Pictures with Grandpa, Shorts and Ice Cream + B-Day Gifts
