- I made this shepherd's pie for dinner and Avery said "I usually don't like peas, onions or zucchini but I love how all the flavors blend together and then with the cauliflower mash on top if really just adds another level of flavor" SO sweet!
- She is really into her Pandora Charm bracelet. She got to pick out some new charms for her b-day and was so thoughtful and thorough with her choices. Like not really wanting holiday ones cause it's not the holiday all year round. Brooklyn also has one so they talk about it a lot and want to get Best Friend charms to match.
- Avery is really really loving her horse back riding lessons and acting class. They are both a huge hit this fall!
- Avery is doing a great job with some drama at recess - She is not joining these "exclusive" clubs and making sure everyone is included during recess
- She was really proud of herself for getting the hustle award at Gym last week!
- Avery has so many good friends in the neighborhood - Free evenings and weekend days are spent with kids running from house to house playing all sorts of things. This past weekend Avery and Brooklyn set up a whole carnival in our basement and then invited other kids over to play games, dance, and get their faces painted.
- Avery did awesome on her Reading and Match testing this fall. 99th percentile in reading and 91st percentile in Math. She loves reading and has lots of different chapter book series she is into like Critter Club, Owl Diaries and Junie B Jones to name a few.
- She went to a neighbors for dinner the other night and they told us she is welcome anytime because she has such great manners and is so polite. We loved hearing that!!
- Avery is always writing little sweet notes and still loves playing pretend more than anything.
- She is a funny and kind girl and I am so happy that 2nd grade is off to a good start!

Sweet Avery Stuff
Avery continues to be such a sweet girl with the kindest heart. Some cute things I want to remember:
Cute Tay Stuff I Don't Want to Forget
Tay is at such a cute age right now and he has hobbies and phrases I don't want to forget!
- He says "If you are touching Bingo when you fall asleep, you wake up and you love him SOOOO much." Tay is also really obsessed with Bingo - Will have to give him an extra snuggle before we leave for school and he just loves to curl up on him and love on him constantly.
- Grayson Haverstick got Tay two Ninja Zone wristbands. Tay thought they were super cool and now wears them to school everyday and the BFF's match each other. The first night he got them we were at the neighborhood park and he's walking around going "Oh yeah, I have wristbands. OH YEAH!"
- He'll say "You do this and then that and then BOOM" - Always uses boom to say it's done/handled/taken care of.
- Tay is really independent and likes to do things by himself. He'll say "No I got this".
- My mom told him it would be a dream come true if he would sleep with her when we were at a hotel one night. She woke up with him tapping her arm saying "G - all your dreams came true. I slept with you ALL night"
- Tay is really into music and LOVES the Alexa he got from G and Papa for his birthday. He'll frequently go upstairs and you'll hear "Alexa Play....". Some current favorite songs are Old Town Road, Bad Guy, We Don't Talk Anymore, Whoop There It Is, and Peanut Butter Jelly Time. Sometimes his timing or pronunciation is off and Alexa can't understand him which can cause some frustrations!
- While we don't want him to HATE too many things, he does tell us "We hate Donald Trump, Brian Bosmo (Basma), Ohio State and Michigan State." If he's mad at me he'll tell me he likes Michigan State or Ohio State. And when we are playing pretend and he is putting me to bed he'll sing about OSU and MSU losing and Michigan winning. Cracks me up!!
- Tay likes to say "NEVER EVER" which sounds like "NEV-O, EV-O"
- Tay is a great independent player and LOVES to play with Connects, Legos, Cars and also loves playing in his hideout under the basement stairs.
- He is really at a peak cuteness and I wish I could capture all the awesome things he says. He makes us laugh and melts us everyday with his personality!
2019 September Update
Avery got to have a sleepover with her bestie Lila to celebrate her birthday - Tay and I also met up with them and tried out the new Red Line bus route and went all the way downtown and had breakfast.
Avery started horseback riding lessons compliments of Grandma T - She LOVES them. Her teacher says she is a natural and Avery is really enjoying them!
Tay got an awesome Big Boy Haircut and also got a special day at the Zionsville Fall Festival with G and Mama (who he now calls "Mom")
Grayson gave Tay some sick wristbands and the boys wear them everyday to school and match. Tay thinks they are SWEET!
We went to Ann Arbor and visited Grammy - Avery brought pictures to show her and it was a great visit. We also go to spend time in AA swimming at the hotel, having a 2+ hour dinner at Palios (they forgot about us but Cullen kept the kids occupied with lots of walks and we ended up with a free dinner and $100 gift card so it all worked out!), Pinball Pete's time, toured campus, and then stopped by my childhood home in Ohio on the drive back. A great weekend!!
Tay celebrated Peace at the annual MSW Peace celebration - He was a little goofy with Grayson at times and his teacher had to tell him to hold still and pay attention :)
