Happy Easter 2019

We had a wonderful Easter Weekend. Our Saturday was very rainy so Avery's game was cancelled but we still had lots to do. Avery was invited to dye Easter Eggs at Korinne's house and was then invited over to Kendall's house for a play date. Tay and I hung with G and G and "baby Cora" for the day. Avery was so sweet to Cora when she arrived and Tay talked to her like she was an actual baby even though she is almost 3 but slowly was more chatty with her as the day went on. We went to Ninja Zone for open gym - At first Tay only wanted to color but eventually started playing. Cora and Tay both loved the "run up" slide and the Ball Pit the most. We then went and visited Grammy who loved having the little ones around.

Our actual Easter day was all about the Bunny and Family (The religious aspect...not so much! Avery though "Good Friday" meant lots of stores had sales aka Black Friday). We started with an egg hunt around the house - Avery loved it. At first Tay was a mess and was sobbing as I don't think he fully got the concept. Once he did he was all about it. They loved their baskets and spent the morning with their new toys and activities. We then went to a party at our neighbor's house who just had a baby, then went to the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt and then headed over to G's for Easter dinner with the Armato girls, Morrison/Popovich crew, Aunt KJ and Uncle Cullen and Grammy (who was in good spirits and was having a good day!). I didn't get too many pics but the kids had a BLAST. One cute thing was Tay continuing to call "Croutons" "Too Crons". That was pretty much all he wanted for dinner and now we all call them "Too Crons". LOL. I didn't get too many pics as we were busy playing and visiting and eating but got a few below :)

Spring Weekend Activities

We had a fun and busy weekend Spring weekend!

  • On Friday we tried out the new popcorn machine from Grandma T and Grandpa - kids loved the novelty of it!
  • Saturday was Avery's first Softball Game. The Purple Fighting Unicorns won 5-4 and Avery got a Base Hit her first time at bat. It was really fun and I am so glad she liked it. After the game, Tay ran the bases just like his Uncle Cullen used to do after my games. Then we went to Avery's "graduation" from her Tae Kwon Do afterschool enrichment class - She broke a board with her kick which was cool. And then she had a sleepover at Bryn's house - It was a busy day for Ms. J and Tay was a trooper through it all.
  • On Sunday we went to Conner Prairie with Brooke and Zach. It was cold and rainy but we somehow spent 4+ hours there and never went outside. The kids made their own wooden cars in the workshop - The volunteers were so great and the kids got to do a lot of the work on their own. We also decorated for Easter and dyed Eggs. A perfect way to spend a rainy day!

Spring Break 2019

Since we went to Disney in February, Spring Break was a "staycation" for the kids. We started with a visit from Jill and Jeff Wrobel and their boys John and Jax. Jax and Tay are only 2 days apart and they became BEST BUDS. Most of the weekend they spent dressed as Super Man. We mostly hung out at home since the kids were having such a great time playing together - and gave us adults plenty of time to catch up and chat. Tay was so sad when his "best friend" had to leave.

The week was mostly spent with G who took them pottery painting, to Conner Prairie and Carter's Play Place along with lots of play time at G's (they loved taking baths in her HUGE tub) and also yummy treats. They were truly spoiled.

They also got one day with Ashley who took them to the zoo. They got to go Behind the Scenes with the Dolphins - SO cool (I was jealous to not be there!). They got tattoo's and got to see all the animals - A magical day with Ackey!!

We ended the vacation with a trip to Grand Rapids for Hung's cousin's wedding. We got some fun time with Grandma T and Grandpa - The guys golfed and the kids and I went to the barn with Teri. Avery loved riding Juno and Teri thought she was a natural. Tay was more interested in playing with sticks and a little scared of the horse - but we did get him on. They loved playing at the house, too. The kids both looked GORGEOUS all dressed up and tore it up on the dance floor. Tay only ate Croutons which he couldn't pronounce and called them "tucrons". Avery was such a swee sister playing with Tay and and the other little kids and had a lot of fun dancing with all of Hung's cousins. Tay was a total ladies man - but it all slightly fell apart at the end when one of the little girls shoved him hard in the chest and he went to shove back, Hung intervened and Tay melted down. It was then time to go home. We ended the weekend with a trip to Olga's, met the Easter Bunny and then stopped at Campus Inn to stock up on Mich gear for the summer and fall. A great end to Spring Break!

Fun with the Wrobels (plus a mini snow storm)
