Visit with the Mahrt's

It was so fun having Jill, Josh, Derek and Molly visit this weekend. The kids had a blast playing together - Lot's of time at the park and in the basement playing Bounce House, restaurant and karaoke. We also went to the Children's Museum on Saturday - The chocolate slide was one of the favorites as well as the Playscape and China and ended the evening with Make Your Own Pizza and some more time at the park.

The adults also had lots of fun just chatting - We used to hang out basically every weekend in Chicago before we had kids and it was just wonderful to have some real time together -it's so comfortable and feels like no time has passed since we last saw each other. We wish we got to see them more and really appreciated them making the trip to Indy.

We didn't get tons of pics...But below are a few we captured.

Tay the Goldfish Swimmer

Tay started at Goldfish today and he did really awesome. He didn't get upset when we dropped him off with his teacher and was so good at following directions. By the end of the class he was holding his breath and pushing off the wall to the the platform and back. The other two boys pretty much cried the whole class and Tay just held it together and was calm and focused. At the end when we went in he gave a huge smile and was SO proud of himself. It was really sweet. Am excited to watch him get better and better this spring and summer. Go Tay!

Welcome Bingo!

We've been toying with the idea of getting a dog for a while now but it took us a while to get comfortable with the idea and then find the right the dog for us. We found Bingo through a rescue in Kokomo - the woman who was fostering him had met us and knew what we were looking for and thought he might be a good match. Hung and I went and checked him out and he could not have been sweeter. Our gut said he was the The One.

Hung was taking the kids to visit his parents for the weekend so I went and got Bingo and got him set up. We surprised the kids when they got back on Sunday and they were pretty shocked and very excited. Avery started jumping around screaming "I got a DOGGIE" over and over.

We've had him close to a week now and he's settling in nicely. His puppy sides has started to come out as he's gotten more comfortable and loves to play nip and take shoes and the kids toys. Tay gets pretty darn MAD - They have a love/hate relationship at the moment.

Hung and I thought we would keep him off the furniture and we've already given in. He's just too sweet and cute and fun to play and snuggle with. So far he likes to hang out with Hung in his office during the day, he's awesome on a leash, good with other dogs, is house trained, not too into eating and playful and cute. He goes right in his crate next to our bed at night and sleeps quietly until we get up. We really lucked out and are thrilled to have Bingo join the family!!

Spring Break 2018

We spent Spring Break down in French Lick Indiana for 3 nights with G, Papa and one night with Kathleen and Anna. While the weather was not great, we had lots of fun with indoor activities. The two main highlights were the KidsFest and the Pool. Kids fest was open everyday from 9-9 and we spent hours there doing crafts and playing games. Avery loved making fuse beads (we came home with about 7) and Tay's favorite was the drum set. It was sort of falling apart and he was constantly trying to fix it and wanted us to play guitar and sing. And then he'd yell into the microphone "Hey Everybody" and try to get all the kids attention. They also got to Tye Dye one day which both kids liked.

We spent hours at the pool each day, too. Avery made lots of friends in the pool and Tay just liked floating around and trying to get back all of our pool toys that were being used by other kids.

A few other activities were a dance party where Tay led the conga line. The bigger kids were trying to tell him where to go and he kept saying "NO! I go this way". We also discovered an Animal Sanctuary and got up close with giraffes, kangaroos, baby rabbits and chickens and goats. G treated Avery and me to a Mommy & Me tea which was adorable. We also spent time in the arcade and running around the atrium at West Baden. We had some wonderful dinners and the kids did great! It was a nice get away before we head into the last stretch of school :)

Over the weekend Uncle Du (Ah Nu) and Otis came to visit. The kids loved having them both here. Du treated them to a movie and the kids also made some race cars and helmets which were pretty cool. They play so well together now and I just love it!
