Taylor's 30 Month Update - 2 1/2 Years Old!

Some updates and cute things from Tay's 30th Month (2 1/2!!!!):

  • He loves to watch Hung play video games and will say "Dada, I watch you die?"
  • "Cupa" is toolbox and "Jupa" is Juice Box (We never really have juice in the house but did when Avery had the flu and he was obsessed!)
  • He's really good at forming full sentences now. It's crazy how far he has come in the last 4 or 5 months.
  • Tay always wants to sleep with tons of toy. "I need in my cib!". He'll just starting dumping blocks, puzzles, cars, etc. in his crib before bed and then we do our best to empty out before he actually goes in. Also needs water ("wawa") and sometimes needs "2 wawa's" to go to sleep.
  • When you ask him if he is 2 or if he is cute or if he is a big boy, the answer is always "No I a baby". Potty training is not going to be fun as is obsessed with being a baby! He basically told us he is scared of the potty :(
  • Someone at a UHS bball game asked Tay if he was strong he said "No, my dada strong. My sissy sick and I a baby." and then showed how STRONG is dada is by straining his face and flexing his "muscles". This was right after Avery had the flu and it cracked us up.
  • When you ask if him he needs something and he doesn't he'll say "No. I OK." or "I do it".
  • G was trying to put him to bed one night while Hung and I went out. Avery went to bed and Tay ended up doing anything possible to keep himself awake - pinching himself, playing with his fingers, etc.. G was letting him lay with her and said "Tay, you really HAVE to go to bed!". He goes "But G, I pooped." She couldn't smell it but he said it again so she went to change him and there was nothing in his diaper. He starts laughing and goes "G - I tricked you!" and then started running around his room. I think he finally gave in around 11:30 :)
  • Tay Loves to scare people (Will jump out with "claws out" and go ROAR") and he also loves to hide. He's a really good hider and he'll be SO quiet that we can't find him sometimes. One time I was in a total panic and found him hidden in Hung's bookshelf in his office.
  • He likes to go to the basement and plays really well on his own - He gets really into whatever he is doing. He really loves to go into the game closet and play with game pieces.
  • Tay has a new game where he likes to put people in Jail - Which means having us sit at the bottom of the stairs and closing the baby gate. The he gets his "Cupa" and uses his tools to try and get us out. If you try to escape or not play he throws a giant tantrum. He also likes to play "die" with Avery - They use the ottoman as a coffin and play dead. Lovely......
  • He has this new pouting thing - If he gets his feelings hurt he crosses his arms, makes a sad face and goes either to Hung's office or under the basement stairs to pout.
  • He has negative interest in eating - It's a daily struggle. He loves "noo noos" and that's about it. We are constantly trying to get him to eat and getting a full meal in him can take hours. And then right before bed he'll go "I HUNGY" and rub his belly and want a snack.
  • One time we were at a basketball game and Hung wasn't there. Tay kept shushing me and saying "Dada sleeping".
  • Tay is getting a ton more into books - He likes to read them to me at bedtime. Very Hungry Caterpillar and the "Mama" book by Jimmy Fallon are two current favorites. The mama book cracks him up!!
  • Tay loves any cartoon about trucks, airplanes or trains - Total boy! He also has gotten into the Hulk and will show us how strong he is and will pick up his little chair and put it over his head.
  • He is still REALLY into lining up his toys. And the other night he took all the tools from his toolbox and stuffed them between the mattress and our bed. As I was making the bed a few days later I was finding tools hidden here and there.
  • Tay is also very into his "Robees" which are these letters that transform into Robots. He'll also call them his "guys".
  • He hates getting his head or face wet in the bath. He'll scream "I can't see. I can't see" until you give him a wash cloth and then he's totally fine.
  • He loves to rough house and play but can also get really into a puzzle or book. He can be stubborn and crazy and also sweet and snuggly. Just love him so darn much!! Happy 2.5 Birthday Tay Tay :)

Taylor's 29 Month Update

Here is what Tay is up to in Month 29:

  • Tay is continuing to talk more and more and make full sentences. We LOVE hearing all he has to say!! He is using words and phrases that we had no idea he knew.
  • He has started calling regular TV's "Big Show" as opposed to watching a show on an iPad. He'll say "I need Big Show". He is really loving Plane and Car cartoons on Amazon at the moment and has figured out how work the TV remotes and dismiss alerts when using one of our phones so his show is not disturbed.
  • He is liking pretend fighting a lot and will say "I punch you OUT" and then will run, jump, punch and kick. He gets this scrunched up "tough" face that is too funny!
  • Bounce House is still a favorite past time. He also got this Dino toy that he basically stole from Zach (Jaime was nice enough to let him keep it!) and he sleeps with it every night and I have caught him feeding it breakfast.
  • Avery is really into her Build-a-Bear and Tay has a Chase Paw Patrol one that he is loving at the moment and also sleeps with every night.
  • He has this annoying habit of NEVER wanting dinner at dinner time and then around 8 when it's time to get ready for bed he goes "I hungry" and rubs his belly. And he is the SLOWEST eater there it - He will eat lunch for a solid 90 minutes!!
  • He is SO good at saying Thank You - Seriously amazing manners.
  • Tay will say "I love you mama/dada/sissy" - He can be a total lovey when he wants to be.
  • He is really enjoying his Gymboree art class and also loves to go to SkyZone for toddler time on Friday.
  • Ashley takes him to the library every Wednesday and he is very aware of their routines so when they leave he goes "Chick and Fries" since they usually go out for lunch afterwards.
REALLY not wanting his picture taken and making mad faces at me (as usual) - Avery also pointed out that the sign still said 2017 instead of 2018 so we tried to correct it and he still didn't want to pose for us :).

Avery And the Flu

2017/2018 had turned into one of the worst Flu Seasons in history. Despite getting her Flu Shot, Avery came down with Influenza A. We initially thought it was an ear infection as she was feeling dizzy. I took her to the Minute Clinic on Sunday - he thought she had an ear infection and sent us home with Amoxicillin. I then had to leave for Boston on Monday for work and my mom stayed over while I was away. Avery had a rough night - Trouble breathing, bad coughing and lots of tears. G took her to the Pedi and they confirmed she had the flu. We started Tamiflu and gave her lots of TLC. By Thursday she was MUCH better and by the weekend she was like a feral cat wanting to get out of the house. She handled is amazingly well and I am so very grateful it turned out to be pretty minor with a quick recovery. And everyone else in the house avoided it (except for Ashley). She took some big naps this weekend and was back to school today - She was SO excited to get back to school.

We did get out a little at the end of the weekend - Saw the Trailblazer girls win sectionals, bounced at Sky Zone and had a fun Superbowl Party with neighbors! Tay managed to avoid the camera most of the weekend but he was there for all of it, too :)
