Pierced!

Avery has been asking to get her ears pierced. She was also struggling to fall asleep in her own room so we made a deal that if she fell asleep on her own for 14 nights she could get her ears pierced. She kept up her end of the bargain and asked for a countdown every morning and night.

We went on Friday to get them pierced. My holes had closed up, too so I also did mine. I went first since Avery wanted to watch. She did awesome when it was her turn - We had such a sweet guy doing the piercing who explained everything to her. That night she had a Rachael-esque freak out about infection - totally lost it. I was putting Tay to bed so Hung was able to calm her down using tactics he has used on me in the past. She still claims the right one hurts her but I think they are actually feeling pretty good. She is excited to go to school today and show her friends.

Some Cute Tay Pics

Just wanted to post some cute pics of Tay. He has loved playing dress up with my shoes and Avery's and also loves pockets and turning anything into a Tool Belt. He also loves tooling around the neighborhood with his sister and asks her for rides. Funny kid!

Fall Festival

We had a fun time at the Zionsville Fall Festival this weekend. On Saturday, the kids and I walked in the parade with UHS. Avery liked passing out candy and Tay was happy in the stroller for about 2/3 of the route and then they both had enough so they hopped in the "Luigi" car to finish out the parade.

On Sunday, we took Nyla with us to the Fall Festival. Kids loved the bounce house area, we had a yummy lunch and then the kids took a train ride, got balloon animals, met a "tooth" which Avert thought was really cool and freaked Tay out, learned about Fire Safety (When they asked what to do when you see smoke while turning some fake smoke on Tay stood and started yelling at it and then blowing as hard as he could), and then did some rides and games. It was exhausting (Tay napped until almost 7 pm!!) but so much fun!

Busy and Fun and Exhausting Labor Day Weekend

We had a very fun but incredibly busy Labor Day weekend. Friday we had dinner at our neighbors Jayme and Stu's house. the kids had fun making cupcakes and we had an epic nerf gun fight that turned into a Dance Party. Tay had a major meltdown on the way over because he wanted to ride his scooter which would have taken about 3 hours to get there and he was NOT happy when Hung carried him. Took some time to recover but the nerf guns and new toys helped.

Saturday morning I took the kids to the Carmel Farmer's Market with Jaime, Brooke and Zach. We closed the place down - The kids made up an imaginary jail/police game and could have stayed there all day! After a Michigan win over Florida, Avery had a sleep over at Uncle Cullen's and KJ's. They played Laser Tag for the first time - Avery said at first she was scared but then loved it at the end. They also made pizza, cookies and built a fort. And also played with Avery's FoxTail toy where they kept score and she tried to get extra style points with how she caught it - KJ was the judge. She made them laugh a ton and all 3 had a great time - Not sure they got the best night of sleep with her in a Queen Bed but otherwise it was awesome.

Sunday was Avery's Sleepover Birthday Party. Lila, Caitlin, Jade, Austyn and Bryn all came over and they had a blast. We made picture frames and bracelets/necklaces, took some silly photos for the frames, had a water balloon fight, pinata, dinner, park time, cake decoration and then a movie with a popcorn bar. Avery had a blast and loved it!! The girls were all asleep by 11 which I didn't think was too bad and pretty much slept through the night. We had pancakes in the morning before all the tired girls headed home. A HUGE thank you to G for sticking with us all night and helping out - could not have done it without her.

Monday night we hosted our neighborhood fantasy football draft. There were probably 40 people at the house and it was nuts. Kids everywhere, TONS of food and just wild. But everyone had a blast and we love all of our new neighbors. I think Avery and Tay giggled and played for 3 hours straight.

Hung and I are both exhausted and we have WAY too many leftovers but we are grateful for such a wonderful weekend filled with friends and family! A great way to end the summer!

Driving to the neighbors for dinner (Tay was too busy screaming about not being able to ride his scooter)

Avery's Awesome Sleepover Party! Tay was going to sleepover at G's but he ended up loving it and had a great time with the girls without annoying them :)

My Football Field App - Thanks to the Bradley's for the recipe and G for helping me make it. It was too crazy to get any other pics at the party!
