We closed on our old house this morning and since we are living at G's house we had to find a neighborhood to Trick or Treat in. Luckily we had some great options! We started the night in Brooke's neighborhood and then headed over to Lila's. Avery was really into Trick-or-Treating this year and loved running from house to house with her friends. Tay tolerated the wagon for about 5 minutes and then needed to walk or be carried - but he was a happy guy (just didn't really want to show it in pictures)!
Avery wanted to be "scary" this year so she chose a witch costume and Tay was her little, black kitty cat. Both were so sweet and just make me melt!

Headless Horsman & Octonauts Live
Avery had such a fun weekend! We started with Headless Horseman. Jaime, Brooke and Zach joined us. Tay loved the music tent and wanted to stay there all night. Avery had fun on the slide, the playground and also liked the Science Experiment show. We ended the night with the haunted hayride which was not the best idea for Avery. The headless horseman totally freaked her out, she looked panicked the whole time and left in tears. We got some treats on the way out to cheer up and when we got home Avery and Hung watched YouTube videos of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow so she could understand it better and then she was OK. She said to my mom after watching the videos "I mean, G, it's a legend. It's not real. It's not like the Paci Fairy".
Saturday featured teddy bear pancakes, a playdate with Nyla and a Michigan win over MSU. Then Avery got to have a night out in downtown Indy with G. They went to the Octonauts Live show which she loved. After dinner they went for a carriage ride and then ended the night with some Starbucks. She is on lucky and happy girl!!
I was also happy to have some Tay only time - We went to West Park and he just walked around and tried everything - over and over again. The kid loves to be outside!

Taylor's 14 Month Update
Here is what Tay is up to at 14 Months:
- 2 more upper teeth have popped through and we are up to 10 - I think 2 more will be here soon on the bottom as the gums are very swollen.
- Since moving to my mom's he has been sleeping great. We have had a lot more nights where he sleeps a solid 12 hours.
- He is down to one nap a day - Naps around 1 pm for anywhere from 2-4 hours.
- Tay is finally starting to like books. His current favorite is the Very Busy Spider - The animal noises make him laugh and he mimics the dog and cow. He also loves "Windows to Color".
- He still loves to carry around his golf clubs and balls. Pretty much anything that is like a stick or ball he likes to carry around and gets really mad if you try to take it.
- Still in 12-18 month clothes. And he's getting a ton of hair. It is ramrod straight and I think we may need to trim it soon as someone thought he was a girl the other day.
- Tay is great a giving big kisses on the lips. Makes a big "MMMMMM" sound when he does.
- We have been working on "Where is your nose?" - He usually points to his mouth....Or just ignores us.
- He has said "fish" a few times. And randomly said "Target" the other day when Ashley was taking him there and he mimicked her. Tons of chatter and trying to talk but no real words yet. He is for sure trying and I think we are close.
- What has been amazing to me is how much he understands verbally with no visual cues. If we say "Can you dance?" he starts doing his cute little dance moves. If I ask if he wants to nurse he pulls on my shirt. When we say "Do you want to go play outside?" he walks over to the door. If we say "Go find Dada" or "Go find Sissy" - he walks through the house and finds that person.
- Tay LOVES to play outside - Would stay out all day if we let him and gets mad when we take him in. He likes to just wander around and explore.
- He gives good high fives and hi/bye waving.
- The boy knows what he wants and if you don't give it to him, he gets really mad and throws some good tantrums. He hates getting his diaper changed most of the time and can scream and squirm and make it really hard to change!
- We still nurse before bed and first thing in the morning. And he drinks frozen breast milk during the day and just about any food. Lately he has not liked fruit except for grapes but he has a good appetite and will eat most of what we give him.
- Tay is just at SUCH a cute age. He is sweet and funny and snuggly and inquisitive. We wish we could pause him because thus stage is just really fun!

The Trieu's Are Moving!
Since Hung and I don't have enough to do and life was getting dull and boring (J/K), we decided to build a new house. We had been debating making renovations to our current house or just starting from scratch and decided we would give building a try. We put a contingent offer on a new house in the Viking Meadow's neighborhood in Westfield and sold our house in 6 days. We have now moved everything from our old house into storage and are living with my mom and Chuck for the next 5 months while our new house it built. Hopefully the new house will be ready around March.
We have been at my mom's about a week and it's been wonderful so far - Avery LOVES her new, cozy room and both Avery and Tay have been enjoying being on the UHS campus with all the land, trees, and chickens. Both have adjusted to sleeping in their new rooms nicely and so far everyone is happy! Hung is now working out of an empty office at the school and I have a nice set up in our bedroom. We are very grateful to my mom and Chuck for opening their home and school to us and are excited for this new adventure.
Funny Avery comment about my mom's house (which is a ranch and smaller than our old house): My mom was putting her to bed and she was chatting away trying to keep herself awake. She got on a rant about how all that matters is kindness and having a good heart. So she was saying things like "It doesn't matter if someone is fat, all that matters is kindness and their heart" and she was running out of things that were "bad" and then said "I mean, it doesn't matter if you have a small house with no upstairs and no basement, all that matters is your heart and kindness!". My mom was about ready to die laughing!!

Carter's Play Place
A new indoor play place opened near us so we went with Nyla to check it out. It was so nice, clean and fun and we can't wait to go back. Avery loved the zipline, trampoline and all the different swings. Tay tried a few things - he carried this drum around for a while and also loved this bouncing hot dog toy. Couldn't get too many pics but it was a fun morning!!
Tay Being Tay
Tay's latest favorite thing to do is be outside holding a golf club. If you open the door and don't take him outside he gets really upset and would walk around outside all day if we let him. I hope the weather stays nice a bit longer so he has more outdoor time :)
He is also obsessed with the lockbox on our house. It's really heavy but he loves to carry it around!

Avery needed some camera time, too and has to constantly "pose" for the camera
The Little Mermaid Show
Avery and I went to see Little Mermaid on Saturday morning with Lila and her family. She was SO into the show and dressed up as Ariel in her costume from Grandma T. As usual, her favorite part was getting autographs and pictures at the end.
