Thanksgiving 2015

We had a great Thanksgiving despite G coming down with bad stomach flu and missing all the festivities. We started the long weekend by attending a UHS girls game and Avery had fun cheer leading! Tuesday night Uncle Du, Lai Ma and YeYe arrived and Avery was so excited to see everyone. Wednesday the boys golfed while I made Thanksgiving Dinner since my mom was sick - Lai Ma was a big help to me in the kitchen! And Wednesday night I went out with a friend to see Mockingjay - Avery threw an epic fit when I left and cried all thru her bath and then passed out while crying - am glad she loves me so much but she is crazy! Poor Hung!

On Thursday we hosted Thanksgiving - Cullen, KJ, Chuck and Grammy came over along with Marija, Lila and Lena (Bill was home sick with a stomach bug as well). The dinner was great and I was proud of myself for getting it all together while my mom was sick. On Friday, Du took Avery to the movies and then we all watched the Iowa game - Taylor was decked out in his Hawkeye gear for the occasion. We also got the xmas tree put up and the house decorated. It was so fun to watch Avery - she was just really into all of it. On Saturday we endured the horrible Mich/OSU game and then G and I took Avery for a Mani/Pedi. She LOVED it - she chose Red and Silver sparkly polish and said "I am all about fancy!". This will not be  our last salon visit. We ended the weekend with a trip to Conner Prairie and also spent the day getting the house and kitchen back to normal. When I was singing some songs to Avery last night as she fell asleep she said "I am so sorry to interrupt and your signing is so beautiful but I have to tell you something. There are going to be a LOT of jealous girls at school tomorrow after they see my nails". I told her not to brag or make a big deal of it so hopefully she doesn't but I am glad she had such a fun weekend. Taylor got tons of love and snuggles all weekend, too!!

Cheerleading Fun!

Christmas Photo Shoot

My friend Leah had mini-sessions for Christmas pics and they turned out great! Avery had so much fun at the shoot and Taylor did his best to keep himself upright (with help from Big Sis!). Was glad we got some good smiles from both of them.

Avery the Cheerleader

G got Avery her very own, custom UHS Cheer-leading Outfit for the boys and girls basketball games. The boys had their home opener last night and Avery had a blast playing cheerleader. She helped cheer the team in, stood with them for the National Anthem and then would go in and out of sitting with us and standing with the squad to cheer. She walks around like she owns the place and it's too cute. I will try to get better pics as the season goes on. I also need to get her some white socks and shoes :)

Taylor 3 Month Update

Taylor is 3 months old and doing great! Here are some highlights:
  • Taylor LOVES his jumparoo - we always get great smiles and lots of intense jumping. He is a little short for it so we have some Tupperware underneath to support his feet so he can really bounce.
  • He also likes his playmat, bumbo and bouncy seat
  • He is wearing 3-6 month clothing and the 3 month stuff is getting tight!
  • He has been a pretty darn good sleeper - especially compared to his sis who liked to get me up 3-4 times a night at this point. He is a bit of a night owl and goes to bed around 11 but only wakes up once to feed - usually around 4 or 5 am and then sleeps until 7:30 or 8. He is sleeping mostly in his Rock N Play and sometimes needs to snuggle with me. I really can't complain!
  • Naps usually happen in the car seat and sometimes in the pack n play. We are getting better at getting him up to his room for naps where it's quieter :)
  • He is SO smiley and good natured. We call his changing table on the pack n play his "happy spot" - you lay him there and he just smiles away. Sometimes we leave him there for 15-30 min because he just smiles and coos and is content. Super random!
  • Taylor also loves to lay in Avery's bed and look at the animals on her wall. That is one of his go to spots in the morning while Avery gets ready.
  • He generally loves car rides and his car seat is a guaranteed way to get him to nap.
  • Taylor talks and coos ALL the time.
  • He is an awesome nurser - Just like Avery. Which makes me very happy!! And is an instant way to calm him, if needed.
  • He still loves bath time with Dad. That is another great way to calm him if he is fussy (which is rare)
  • He rarely cries - He is just a happy and easy baby. He let's anyone hold him and is in good spirits unless he is tired or hungry.

Loving the Jumparoo!!

Many Faces of Tay Man

Some cute snap shots that Hung took

Aunt Maddie Came to Town!

Aunt Maddie was able to come visit for a weekend and we loved having her here!! Avery and Taylor both had colds and Pink Eye so we laid low most of the time. Avery kicked off the holiday season decorating a Ginger Bread house that G got her and both kids got lots of snuggles and attention from Aunt Maddie. Luckily everyone is healthy and back to normal to start the week.

Hearts and Hooma Hoomas

A couple sweet Avery things I wanted to capture:

  • Avery asked if I could stop nursing Taylor. I was her why and she said "Because I feel like it makes his heart closer to your heart than my heart is."
  • She has discovered Charlie and Chocolate Factory and calls the Oompa Loompas the Hooma Hoomas. It cracks us up so we don't correct her :)

Chunky Tay

Love how our little man is filling out :) And his sideways smile!

Alvin and the Chipmunks Live

Avery has recently discovered Alvin and the Chipmunks and I saw that they were coming to town to perform "live". We had a Mommy/Daughter day downtown. We started by meeting KJ for lunch at CPK and Avery drew a picture of G. Then we headed to the show where Avery danced along and yelled out "I LOVE you BRITTANY" and then would get embarrassed after she yelled out. They also had a "food fight" where they threw foam food into the audience and Avery then spent time searching under chairs for more. She ended by getting a "Veodore" (what she calls Theodore) Souvenir for the bargain price of $20. She was a happy girl and I loved being able to spend the day with her!
